Democrat Suzanne Kosmas (FL-24) replaced GOP darling Tom Feeney, the most corrupt, scandal-ridden politician in the House.  We were all so excited.

But last November, Suzanne voted against healthcare reform.  She called it a "conscience" decision and that she voted NO because it wouldn't help rein in the costs of health care. Yes, Suzanne, doing nothing and allowing insurance companies to have free reign is much better.

Now she is poosed to vote NO again.

What irritated me the most was the fact that this woman campaigned on health care reform. I guess she just wanted to ride the Obama's coattails.  The GOP is running a campaign now to "thank" Kosmas for "holding firm against reform."

Pelosi has dispatched Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz to help remind Kosmas who put her in office.  And what the hell she was elected to do.

What galls me is that two of my independent friends (who happen to be conservative leaning) got a "survey" in the mail seeking their opinion on the matter.  Both are steadfastly against "government-takeover" of healthcare...even though both are hypocrites who enjoy TriCare.

The GOP is very happy about all of this.  They are writing letters to the editor implying they might vote for her, flooding her office with calls of thanks, and running ads.  Suzanne Kosmas seems to be eating this up.

Here's the problem.  SUZANNE...THEY AREN'T GOING TO VOTE FOR YOU!!! They are going to run their OWN wingnut, thank you very much.

Independents are not going to support someone who doesn't stand for anything and has no accomplishments.

So that leaves the Democrats. YOUR BASE. The people who would actually campaign, donate money, work the phones, and VOTE.

Folks, we are in a conservative-leaning district, but Suzanne won because DEMOCRATS came out in droves.  Right now, she is ONLY hearing from Republicans.

If she gets a flood of calls and emails from Democrats...especially Democrats from her District...she will rethink her decision.

Tell her that is exactly what she HAS TO DO, or we will rethink ours.

UPDATE:  Yes we are a GOP leaning district...you know who else is? Alan Grayson, FL-8, right next door.  The local GOP is TERRIFIED of him!  They can't even find a real candidate to run against him!  (All the real players dropped out).  It goes to show that people love a STRONG Dem who will actually stand for something.  A weak Dem will get sent packing.

UPDATE II:  She has a primary challenger.  (He featured my blog's endorsement).  His name is Paul Partyka..and he is awesome: http://www.partykaforcongress.com/

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
