So goes the slogan of the latest person to announce for Congress, Murray Hill Corporation.

Sorry I can't get embed to work but here are Murray Hill's

WEBSITE (Where donations can be made & T-Shirts Bought:

Facebook Page:

and First Media Interview:

"As much as corporate interests gave to politicians, we could never be absolutely sure they would do our bidding. But thanks to an enlightened Supreme Court, now we can eliminate the middle-man and run for office ourselves."Murray Hill Campaign Ad

William Klein, a "hired gun" who has been enlisted as Murray Hill's campaign manager, said the firm appears to be the first "corporate person" to run for office and is promising a spirited campaign that "puts people second, or even third."

A Murray Hill tool kit available for other corporate aspirants includes a model news release, talking points and templates for other campaign materials.

but the Corporation's problem is that it's just 5 years old:

It seems the corporation does not meet the "minimum requirements" for voter registration, which include being a U.S. citizen and at least 18, according to Kevin Karpinski, a lawyer for the county elections board.

Just another case of The Man sticking it to Corporate America!!

From the new Texas-Approved History Book:

(disclaimer- I picked part of the story from WaPo, which may not be too reliable and seems to have fired their last sober proofreader. This morning they also have a FP headline saying the EU wants less financial regulation than the US, while the story is how the EU wants more).

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

You can add a private note to this diary when hotlisting it:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary from your hotlist?
Are you sure you want to remove your recommendation? You can only recommend a diary once, so you will not be able to re-recommend it afterwards.
Rescue this diary, and add a note:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary from Rescue?
Choose where to republish this diary. The diary will be added to the queue for that group. Publish it from the queue to make it appear.

You must be a member of a group to use this feature.

Add a quick update to your diary without changing the diary itself:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary?
(The diary will be removed from the site and returned to your drafts for further editing.)
(The diary will be removed.)
Are you sure you want to save these changes to the published diary?

Our new currency will have that new motto now that we are officially a fascist corporate kleptocracy thanks to Roberts, Alito, Scalia, Thomas, and Kennedy and their Citizens United ruling.

The Pledge of Allegiance will also be rewritten because that ending about "liberty and justice for ALL" isn't tolerable anymore.  (Only the rich and politically-privileged are entitled to justice under the new rules.).

Waddya mean the "candidate" cannot register? Call SCOTUS! The candidate's "speech" rights are being infringed upon!

Seriously, good stunt to show some of the glaring illogic of "corporations are persons" mindset.

I have long held, before this particular SCOTUS atrocity, that if corporations have so many rights of real persons they need face exactly the same criminal penalties as persons. Steal? The corporation is "jailed" for x years on conviction, i.e., it cannot function in society and has its rights severely limited perhaps forever as a "criminal" with a record. Kill people with premeditated malice to increase profits? Execution. Solemn march of the corporate papers to the shredder and dissolution of the corporate body.

In but a few short years, an enterprising young corporate tyke such as yourself will have come of age and by Supreme Court mandate be crowned Ultra-Citizen. Imposing your royal will upon the meddlesome rabble of self-propelled objects that populate your kingdom is more than your birthright: It is your Destiny.
