Interesting article on Rep. Joe Sestak's decision to challenge the real working class Joe, US Senate candidate Joe VodVarka from Allegheny County in an attempt to get him kicked off of the May 18 primary ballot, which also includes leading incumbent Sen. Arlen Specter.

VodVarka is a strong advocate for providing workers with a living competitive wage, and that may mesh with Rep. Sestak's agenda since it has been brought to the attention of local labor leaders that some of Rep. Sestak's campaign staffers would qualify for food stamps based on how little he is paying them.
Democratic State Rep. Paul Costa of Allegheny County said, "It’s a basic Democratic Party value to treat workers fairly and Cong. Sestak fails that test. I don’t blame staffers for already jumping off his sinking ship."

I wonder why Rep. Sestak, running on a ticket of "change" against Sen. Arlen Specter, but would resort to an old trick to oust a candidate from the ballot who speaks a populist tone about recreating a strong manufacturing base and combating sweatshop labor? Nonetheless, voters should have a real working class Joe as a choice on the ballot this May. Choice is a great thing, especially between Joe's.
