WOW! What an exciting moment to be alive! Watching the Democratic Party realize a goal, substantive health care reform, which seemed almost unobtainable only a few weeks ago has reinvigorated my faith in President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, Sen. Reed, the Democratic leadership and in their ability to get things done! But at the same time I think its only fair to give credit where credit is dues and recognize the contribution of the Republican Party in the Health Care Battle.
Without 8 years of unimaginable mismanagement of The House, The Senate and the White House, would we be where we are today? Without George W. Bush's stunning incompetence would the GOP have not only lost the House and the Senate, but given Democrats the kind of majority which they hadn't seen in more than a generation?
And without 8 years of the Republican Party jamming one stupid piece of legislation after another down the throats of the Democratic Party, would the President and Democratic Leadership have ever reached a point where they would get up the courage to do whatever it took to put meaningful Health Care Reform Legislation into law? I think not.
And so, at the end of the day, I think George W. Bush deserves a pat on the back for having contributed, unknowingly, into making Health Care Reform a very bipartisan piece of legislation.
