Just days old and already a Modern Classic (and I think Pulitzer worthy):
From this site, by the way.
And then there's the new Facebook page that a few (3 or 4) of my "friends" have signed-up for/on/with, to wit: "304,059,724 AGAINST OBAMA'S HEALTHCARE TAKEOVER."
Given that 304,059,724(+/-) constitutes the entire man/woman/child population of the United States, I'm thinking their count is a bit off. And, of course, you can't argue with them. I'm just backing off, letting them stew, and waiting about 6 or so months when provisions of the bill begin to kick in.

Water
(a very short story)
There was once this group of people lost in the desert, with an equatorial sun bearing down on them and nothing to drink.
One of their party went on ahead to fetch water for them all. As he prepared to leave and all the while that he was gone, several members of the group used what strength they had left in them to insult, run-down, sneer at and demean the guy who'd gone on the errand. After a couple of days, when the entire group saw this guy's form come into vision from over the horizon, then grow larger as he neared them, trudging back to them lugging large cans of water, they all turned to turn to the ones who did nothing but give this guy shit and, well, thought rather poorly of them.

I'm still amazed, though, at the huge disconnect in the apocalyptic verbiage of Capitol Hill Republicans and what this bill-cum-act truly is/means/will bring. Of course I don't believe even half the Capitol Hill GOoPers believe half the crap they're peddling. They're just trying to whip-up their disciples into a (continuing) frenzy. Thing is, that emotional level is eventually draining on the very people pumped up by it, and coupled with the dire predictions that WON'T come true, the GOP's gonna have some explaining to do come this fall.
Health Care Reform!!!
