The Republicans may come up with a few good, attractive amendments to offer among the many bullshit ones, and might try and attack Democrats on not considering them.
Naturally, a simple statement of such amendments might make things look bad. What I saw while watching C-SPAN was I think one on exempting medical devices that help the disabled from the taxes on those products.
So what do we do? My idea is pretty simple: If you felt so strongly that this was a good idea, Ladies and Gentlemen, why didn't you introduce this earlier, and make it part of gaining your support? You only introduce it now for cheap political advantage, and to delay or even forestall entirely the fixes to some of the problems of the Senate Bill- problems your party was instrumental in creating, by requiring sixty votes to pass. If you want to hit somebody up for legislative malpractice, then Physician, heal thyself.
