I find myself sitting here in utter amazement at the gall of these "propagandists" that President Obama has stuck his thumb in the eye of the Senate. Senator Bennett of Utah who the Tea Partiers are making a strong attempt to steal his nomination as the name on the ballot as a the republican candidate for the Senate Seat he now holds, with their crazy caucus procedure for nominating the convention attendees, they even denied Bennetts sister a place at the convention.
The Tea Party smells blood and like sharks they are circling looking for their first real take down of a major elected official, in all reality in Utah it does not matter who gets their name on the ballot as the republican candidate they ARE going to be elected the next Senator, be it Bennett or the Tea Party selectee, Utah is just that far gone to the right.
But to listen to them decry how President Obama is again proving how he does not want "bi-partisianship" as he has called for since the election and even during the campaign. He refused to throw away the past years work on HCR and start over with a clean piece of paper during the "Blair House Conference" (in their minds the SOB had already made up his mind and he wasn't going to listen to any Republican ideas) they have short memories and forgot the gang of six Max Baucus amd Grassley, Snowe et al who spent all that time trying to make a deal until Grassley went "they want to pull the plug on Grandma" last August and the "death panels" and the gang of six fell apart, the republicans quickly forget the truth. They never intended to make a "deal" on health care reform.
They have been the party of NO since McCain lost the election, forget the fact that he picked caribou Barbie to be a heart beat away from the Presidency and even sane republicans do not want her anywhere near the Oval Office with even the slightest chance she might be in power, if McCain had been 45 instead if nearly 75 they might have taken the chance, but damn that man is old and she wants power so bad she might have taken him hunting or snow machine racing with the first dude and we all know accidents happen. Do not mess the sister Sarah someone is going to get hurt and it usually isn't her.
The Mesa incident was another over the top reaction of how they decry the lame stream media blaming Tea Party types for the violence in political discourse today the protestor starts yelling a bunch of "thugs" they were not "event staff" pull him out of the stands a later TV video show him on the ground as people are grinding him into the concrete and the police coming to take the protestor into custody.
My question is why take the protestor into custody it was a political rally held in a high school open to the public not a paid fundraiser so why was the protestor "put in cuffs and taken away" why weren't the thugs put into cuffs? They assaulted him and is quite obvious in the media coverage of the event, both protestors were overhwelmed by "thugs" and not event staff I do not know if the second protestor was taken away though or just escorted out.
Since when has it been against the law to protest elected officials or even candidates for office? If they were trespassing at a private fund raiser I can understand being charged, but not public events on public property. This seems to ne the norm now since the Bush campaign staff started it I think we all remember the 3 arrested in Denver for wearing t shirts that were not approved and escorted out before Bush arrived, the "agents" some tried to identify them as Secret Service and that was shown to be false they were event staff and I think the Bush Campaign had to make a cash settlement with the three before it went to trial.
But now they all seem to be attempting to do it, I prefer the way President Obama handles it and he gets the people to quit "yelling" and talks to them, and directly deals with "their issue" most of them either sit down and shut up or leave on their own, I don't remember seeing people being "thug handled" and then turned over to cops and charged with a crime.
I am proud that President Obama made these 15 recess appointments and even appointed Craig Becker to the NLRB and basically gave the republicans the middle finger after they explicitly demanded in a letter signed by all of the republican senators "demanding" that he not do this. What are they going to quit working for their states residents, they quit doing that on January 20, 2009 all they ahve been doing is saying NO ever since. They are not working on behalf of the nations unemployed, the elderly, our school children and anyone else for that matter, they have done NOTHING except cause problems and whine about how the President is not trying to be bi-partisian after he campaigned on that issue, they don't mention why there isn't any bi-partisianship, because they refuse to play, they keep shoving John McCain and Jim NO Demint out front as their spokespeople pretty much like the soup kitchen guy from the Seinfeld show "Nope no soup for you today get out" it is the only thing they seem to know how to say anymore, and whine that they can't get their bills voted on and Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi are just ignoring them just like Bush, Delay, Hastert and Frist did to democratic legislation from 2001-2006 they stean rolled the entire nation from the Iraq war to Medicare part D even down to the Wall Street bail out that was a 2 page request when it started and they were going to buy the bad mortgages not give the money to the banks, but that 700 billion quickly went straight to the banks vaults and no oversight and little Congressional input and Bush-Cheney left that mess on Obama's desk and Faux now spends their time rewriting history saying that Obama bailed out wall street and not Bush, excuse me I know I had a bad memory and mix my days and months up but I remember McCain suspended his campaign and refused to do Letterman because he had to run to DC to help the White House save America, instead he went on CBS with katie Couric and pizzed off Letterman and the wanted to skip the debate so he could "look" important and the White House meeting with Bush, Obama and McCain made him look even smaller.
I want the tea party to succeed just so they can split the rights votes between Tea Party candidates and Republicans/neocons and our progressive or at a minimum democratic candidates. I want them to have the clown fight I am sure I saw a bunch of people dressed like clowns in Searchlight yesterday at the Sister sarah event.
I hope the President used the hell out of recess appointments to fill the jobs that need to be filled so that our government can work and help us all even the idiots that call themselves tea partiers they need govt to work so they can get their medicare/medicaid and social security benefits or SSD checks they forget that the programs that they exist on are all socialist programs created by FDR and LBJ decades ago and were called the same names that have been used to describe health care reform
so while they want Obama, Pelosi and Reid to keep their hands off their "healthcare" and don't want no damned goverment officials involved in it they don't have a clue that medicare is the ultimate public option they have been protesting against, and most of the tea partiers all appear to be the age of getting Social security checks or disability checks, otherwise how else do they have all this time during the working week to drop everything and run to protests in nevada, or DC or where ever else they need them be it a saturday or a week day they don't work but my guess is they get their checks the same place I do from the "goobermint" I earned my VA benefits or as Bush called them the PROMISE and my SSD I paid payroll taxes since I enlisted in the Army in Oct 1973 SSD is an insurance policy we all pay for it is NOT welfare but it is a socialized program :)
