If you google "crash the tea party" (last 24 hours), you'll see that a long list of reports on this insidious plot to undermine the tea party movement pops up.
I could not find a single real progressive blog or news source among the sites running this story. They are all either conservative sources (and the fishier ones at that, like Michele Malkin) or they have questionable blog names.
It looks like an approach the rightwingers are taking is to claim that the crazies who show up at the upcoming gun and tax marches are actually liberals impersonating teabaggers. How rich is that?
This appears to be the next tactic that will be taken to address the wackadoodles who are bound to show up at these rallies, to blame it on liberals (read: commie, socialist nazis).
There is a site called crashtheteaparty.org that claims to be the seminal site. It is imputed to be run by a "Jason Levin" (why not, everyone knows all liberals are Jewish). One site specifies that anyone who is into anything other than simple fiscal discipline and lower taxes (read: birthers, militia, racists, etc etc) is most likely to be an undercover liberal plant pretending to be a teabagger and not an actual loonie.
I'm curious if any real liberal blogsites have been approached by this group (which apparently has gained thousands of followers sinces the SRLC event failed so disasterously to the minions of the unwashed Palin and Bachmann worshippers).
One site even lists how liberals will pull off this mass infiltration: by using extremist imagery, misspelled signs (!) etc etc.
I read this as being the latest tactic of the rightist elites to 1) rein in the tea baggers, 2) wash their hands of the danger they have inflicted on this country, and 3) continue to demonize the left -- all at the same time.
As the saying goes: "A lie can make it half way around the world before the truth gets its pants on". Let's make sure this is not another ACORN scam.

Update: If you check out the "crashtheteaparty.org" site and other sites referring to the article and agree, please leave a comment with the articles in the newspapers. No need to bother with the conservative or punk (fake liberal) sites, but reputable (?) sites should get some feedback. This is an unfortunate result of what's been happening to journalism, CNN being the latest sad example. Oh I long for the days of Walter Cronkite!

FYI "Whois" on "crashtheteaparty.org"... (3+ / 0-)
...reports that the domain is registered through godaddy.com to "Ben Franklin" at "3 Chestnut Lane, Philadelphia, PA 19115" The contact address is "crashtheteaparty@gmail.com"
So obviously whoever set up the site doesn't want anyone to know who they are -- even the domain registration company, who has the right to know. Don't know if posting false whois information can get them shut down -- most sites at least have holding companies or some such "proper" anonymous contact information.

My conclusion: Levin ("Ben Franklin") is either 1) a conservative astroturf plant, and 2) a liberal idiot, with no sense of ethics or responsibility.
