| Tonight on TDS, former Bushco lackey John O'Hara is on to promote his new book, A New American Tea Party; and on TCR, it's Jeffrey Katzenberg CEO, DreamWorks Animation |
As you probably inferred already, O'Hara is a tea party apologist, as evidenced by sub-title of his book, "The Counterrevolution Against Bailouts, Handouts, Reckless Spending, and More Taxes." Publisher's Weekly had this to say about the book:
Crying tyranny, O'Hara predictably draws parallels between the Obama administration's financial policies and those that led to the original Boston Tea Party, but also castigates Republican leaders like John McCain (ignorant of free-market principles), the Bushes (closet liberals), and Newt Gingrich (whose mid-1990s "revolution" was a mirage). O'Hara spends much time dissecting the sins of the Left (which "wants to take, control, and distribute as it sees fit"), and doesn't minimize the contention between Tea Party-style libertarianism and pseudo-Right neoconservativism.
Meanwhile, Jeffrey Katzenberg will be appearing on Colbert. He's an Obama supporter, but it's more likely that he'll be discussing recent trends in 3D animation, on the heels of his recent speech at the National Assocation of Broadcasters convention in Las Vegas. As vizworld.com reports:
At NAB this week, Dreamworks Chief Executive Jeffrey Katzenberg spoke about the recent advances and problems with 3D, highlighting the success of "Avatar" & "How to Train your Dragon" and the failures of "Clash of the Titans". He believes, as many do, that the key to 3D is not to simply use it as a gimmick but to embrace all of the new psychological effects and utilize the new composition and camera tools this enables. In his words, "This will be as transformative as color."
