All I have ever asked for is to be treated equally, there is nothing special in this request. I just ask to be treated with respect, and a modicum of decency.
Why must we wait?
What is more important than equality?
Is this so hard to do, are then any justifiable reasons why I should be treated as a second class citizen?
Just because of my gender, and whom I love?
Is this a sound basis for discrimination?
Am I worth less than a man? Seven tenths at last count.
My partner just happens to be the same sex as myself, its the way we are wired.
Is it so hard just to let us live our lives, without the denigration of being considered somehow of less worth than the majority?
Yes, I'm in a hurry to be considered equal.
Is this somehow harming society, and the Democratic party agenda?
Is the reason I have to wait due to the fear of those who have no tolerance, or is it just that we do not matter in the larger scheme of things?
Is this just?
I hear some screaming about their freedom, isn't withholding equality the worst of sins?
Do you have a problem when we shout not for advantage, but for having the rights the vast majority take for granted.
Is it really that hard to accept?
Why should we be told to wait?
What gives you that right?
If to be different is not a crime, why are we punished.
I know the real reasons, and they are all to do with fear and hate, what I want is reasoned argument as to why equality is so hard to grant. I feel insulted every time I'm told "you want a pony", when all I want is what is the norme.
All it really takes is for everyone to live their own lives, and not judge the lives of others. We are not monsters who cannot control our urges, merely human being living our lives the best we can. Many would have you believe otherwise by quoting some higher morality, they should look to their own 'salvation' by loving, and not by spreading hatred and distrust.
I'm am not tired of desiring freedom through equality, I am tired of trying to understand why for some its so hard to comprehend.
Why should we have to shout, when we shouldn't have to ask in the first place?
You can keep the pony, all I ask for are my basic human rights. So next time you ask me to wait, be prepared for a very snotty reply.
Have a great day
Alessandra.
