UPDATE: I contacted the Board of Elections and they've informed me there's nothing I can do. This really sucks that there are loop holes in the system like this where it's ok to vote early on the Friday before the election but not the Monday before the election. Not really sure why this hole exists but I'm pretty pissed about it.
This isn't so much a diary as a request for help from anyone that knows about casting an absentee ballot in North Carolina's Primary on Tuesday.
The primary is on Tuesday and I JUST found out that I need to be in Maryland on Tuesday because of work.
The problem is that One-stop absentee voting ended Friday, April 30th and absentee ballots cast through the mail have to be received by Monday, May 3rd. Obviously, I haven't gotten a ballot and can't put it in the mail to be delivered the same day on Monday.
Is it possible for me to fill out an absentee ballot and hand deliver it to the address we're supposed to mail it to?
Did I just fall into some sort of blackhole/loophole where I can't vote anymore?
For those interested, I am (or had been) planning on casting a vote for Elaine Marshall.
