..and completely omits any "rational" information in her treatise on espn.com that calls for "rational" debate on AZ's immigration law.
Brewer's ghostwriter/political hack writes this:
It is critically important that all Americans understand the impetus for this new law and have a clear understanding of the law itself. Our neighbor to the south, Mexico, is in a massive battle with well-organized drug cartels. Because of Washington's failure to secure our southern border, Arizona has become the superhighway of illegal drug and human smuggling activity. In December 2008, the U.S. Justice Department said that Mexican gangs are the "biggest organized crime threat to the United States." In 2009, Phoenix had 316 kidnapping cases, turning the city into our nation's kidnapping capital. Almost all of the persons kidnapped were illegal immigrants or linked to the drug trade.
Ok. So Brewer has asked to have this article, chock-full of lame sports analogies, published online, for what she must assume to be dumb jocks.
But no one except the terminally idiotic misses the elephant in the f*cking room. WHY IS THE DRUG WAR SO BAD? [no need to explain here, of course..]
Brewer's sound byte explanation is in perfect harmony with her racist platform. Drugs are a problem because of the violent 'Mexicans'. If only it weren't for those Mexicans, there would be no drug problem! You all should be scared of these dangerous Mexicans!
that's the fear card that fascist law enforcement/politicians have historically played in the drug war. Evil brown people were poisoning white society- that's their thesis. But hey- in california, 56% of those polled supported cannabis re-legalization, including 46% of republicans. .
Surely the people of Arizona are a bit "rational" when it comes to cannabis poicy, right? If so, Brewer ain't one of them..
Essentially, our border leaks like a team with a last-place defense. The very same week that I signed the new law, a major drug ring was broken up and Mexican cartel operatives suspected of running 40,000 pounds of marijuana through southern Arizona were indicted.
nice sports analogy! wheeewww how clever. I can hardly hang with that kind of wit.
Yep, Jan Brewer. You're great at rational debate. From your porch, I guess you can see all the evil brown people infecting innocent white america with drugs. Good thing our country has people like you and Sarah Palin to keep us safe, tell us ficticious bedtime stories, and tuck is in at night (and tuck minorities into jail cells)
