First the Good News from Research 2000
In the general election:
Senate
John McCain (R) 48 (52)
Rodney Glassman (D) 35 (33)
J.D. Hayworth (R) 43 (48)
Rodney Glassman (D) 42 (37)
Now the somewhat bizarre news - Today McCain attended a hosted for him by the chamber of commerce who helped kill McCain Feingold and now attacking the DISCLOSE Bill. There are no permanent friends or enemies in politics. There are just ex-Mavericks.
h/t to Think Progress
As ThinkProgress has reported, the Chamber is the biggest front group fighting financial reform — pushing the elimination of consumer protections from the bill and even fighting the bill’s "fundamentals." The Chamber is funded by some of the world’s largest corporations, including banks like CitiGroup, which were bailed out by taxpayers and still have not repaid the TARP funds.
But McCain loves the Chamber of Commerce - They are really Wonderful People
It's like his garden club or his shuffleboard crew I guess. Makes no difference to him. Give up on campaign finance reform and get the folks that killed it to finance your campaign. It's the American Ex-Maverick Way. Even better do it during the middle of the Wall Street Reform Debate.
There's no chance he will actually learn what's in the DISCLOSE law which would answer Citizens United. Guess he's just fine with that ruling now that he's got to rely on the Chamber to fund this campaign. Just blame it on the unions. That seems to have also become the American Ex-Maverick Way.
I've had enough of McCain and I'm ready to get him out.
We've added Democrat Rodney Glassmanto our Progressive Electorate/ Act Blue Page
Glassman has pulled from 19 points to 13 points down against McCain and is within the margin of error against J.D. Hayworth. Man I love right-wing primary challenges.
Here here to a McFail in the Fall.
