Elaine is up +8% from last month and is keeping incumbent Senator Richard Burr under 50% for the first time in a new Rasmussen poll. This again shows why she is best positioned to defeat Burr in November and score a big win for Democrats. The surge comes after Elaine's great victory in Tuesday's Democratic primary.
Rasmussen:
The latest Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey of Likely Voters shows Burr picking up 48% of the vote against North Carolina Secretary of State Elaine Marshall who earns 40% support. Only three percent (3%) would opt for some other candidate in this race, while nine percent (9%) are undecided.

Support for Marshall is up eight points from last month and is at its highest level seen so far in the race. This is Burr’s lowest level of support measured in surveys conducted since January, when he held 47% support against Marshall.
Our campaign really does owe the Netroots a debt of gratitude for believing in Elaine when plenty of national pundits and Washington insiders wrote her off. Now we're in a great position to pull the biggest upset in 2010 and replace one of the worst Republicans in the Senate with a bold progressive like Elaine Marshall.
