Over the past month or so, I have had a problem with Yahoo Mail: e-mail messages to me from Democratic groups and liberal groups (groups like the NAACP, which don't contain the words "Democrat" or "Democratic" in their names) have been classed as Spam, instead of having been placed in my Inbox.
I'm writing this diary both to ask if anyone else has had this experience and to memorialize what has been happening to my e-mail.
While I did a search for "Yahoo Mail" in diaries for the past one year, I didn't find anyone who has had the same problem. Instead, I found that many folks have been complaining about Yahoo News running a lot of stuff about Republicans (the main problem I've had with that has concerned all the speculative stuff from Politico run as "news").
Back to specifics: e-mail sent to me from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has been classed as "spam", as well as e-mail to me from other groups with the words "Democrat" and "Democratic" in their names, and e-mail from a number of groups which can be described as "liberal" or "progressive".
Not only that, but those of you with Yahoo Mail understand that a "Not Spam" button appears on messages routed to the Spam folder--well, that button reads "Spam" on the messages to me from Democratic and other liberal and progressive groups--I have to click on the Move button and select Inbox, an extra operation, to get those messages to my Inbox.
The only recent exception to this last wrinkle has been an e-mail I just received from my current U.S. representative, Earl Blumenauer (D-OR). That message did display a "Not Spam" button.
Again, my purpose is to ask whether anyone else has been having this problem. I have a reason for keeping the e-mail address which I have had for more than ten years, a Yahoo Mail address, but I'm getting sick and tired of having to list each group as a "contact", which has seemed to protect subsequent messages from those groups.
