A CBS 5 investigator has uncovered numerous e-mails to and from Arizona state Sen. Russell Pearce and some of his constituents. Pearce intends to push for a bill that would enable Arizona to no longer grant citizenship to the children of illegal immigrants born on U.S. soil.
"I also intend to push for an Arizona bill that would refuse to accept or issue a birth certificate that recognizes citizenship to those born to illegal aliens, unless one parent is a citizen."
More on Sen. Russell Pearce's attempt to repeal the 14th Amendment below the fold.
E-mails from the law’s supporters outnumbered those from critics by seven to one. One supporter wrote,
"I think it is about time we take our state and country back from the Mexicans."
The first Native Americans arrived in Arizona between 16,000 BC and 10,000 BC, while the history of Arizona as recorded by Europeans began when Marcos de Niza, a Franciscan, explored the area in 1539. So I agree, let's take my native state back. Give it to the native Americans to which I am proud to have their bloodlines.
One opponent wrote,
"Mr. Pearce, you are a sick, racist and bigot..."
Can't say I disagree with that!
Pearce replied to some opponents:
"Do you not care about the deaths…maimings…billions in cost to America..."
Despite perceptions, crime in border areas mostly down.
One of the e-mails written by someone else but forwarded by Pearce reads:
"If we are going to have an effect on the anchor baby racket, we need to target the mother. Call it sexist, but that's the way nature made it. Men don't drop anchor babies, illegal alien mothers do."
In response, Pearce sent two e-mails to CBS 5 that contain some of the reasoning he used to conclude that children of illegal immigrants should not be granted citizenship. He also said he's disappointed when people think he's mean spirited because he stands for America.
Pearce said his new idea is not only legal but constitutional.
“It’s common sense,” Pearce said. “Again – you can’t break into someone’s country and then expect to be rewarded for that. You can’t do it.”
When Pearce was shown the e-mail referring to “anchor babies” that he forwarded, he said he didn’t find anything wrong with the language.
“It’s somebody’s opinion…What they’re trying to say is it’s wrong. And I agree with them. It’s wrong,” said Pearce.
When I first saw this on the news last night I felt so many emotions all at the same time. The ultimate result of those feelings was 'tossing my groceries.' Why do some people not like the color brown? I mean, they buy shit loads of tanning lotion in the summer and during the winter the tanning salons are booming. I don't get it and I really don't care to understand the mind of a racist but this man Pearce has got to be stopped. He's dangerous to Arizona and to society as a whole.
I'm not a religious person per se but please God....help us from this evil man and his mininons.
I'm devastated and ashamed at what the "unelected" governor and her ilk have done to my native state. They should be ashamed but they feel nothing, nothng but contempt for any non-white color. We are working hard to oust McCain and then Kyl. It's our only hope for survival.
My apologies if I didn't have the proper diary etiquette. No excuses, just apologies.
