An open letter to Rand Paul, I'm all confused. Hopefully he can help.
Hey Rand,
I still don't get it. Please try again. I'm a bit simple.
So, you are saying it would be a good thing for our country if the President of the United States walked into a restaurant in Kentucky and was refused service because they posted a "Whites Only" sign?
But Rand, isn't he the most powerful man in the free world?
But he isn't powerful or free enough to stroll in for a greasy cheeseburger and, if available, a Goose Island 312 Wheat Beer?
To me, that just doesn't sound like it would go over too well with the rest of the free world.
So, lets say President George W Bush was refused service because they had a "No Service for the Intellectually Apathetic" sign, would that have been OK too?
Should businesses be allowed to serve up IQ tests before cheeseburgers and beer?
I honestly don't think that would have gone over very well either, but I'm apparently not as clearheaded to pick up on some of these nuances as you are. Plus, you probably think that's not a fair comparison.
Anyway, I look forward to your answer, and keep up the good work. I can't wait to see you again on Rachel's show!
