When I saw this video, http://bit.ly/... of James Carville attacking Newsweek columnist and CNN talking head Fareed Zakaria for saying the president was overreacting to the gulf oil spill; I said, this is the man who should be in charge of the spill response. He said he wanted to hit Zakaria with a "football bat"[sic]. I don't know if Carville knows anything about oil, or oil spill response, or for that matter, football or baseball. But I like his attitude. Moreover, Carville is from the gulf area and he's pissed off. He's extremely pissed off. And we need someone who is from and cares about the area, and is mad as hell, to get things moving.

And we need someone who is from and cares about the area, and is mad as hell, to get things moving. We need to fire that dude with the uniform, the Admiral from the Coast Guard, Thad Allen, who's hardly done squat down there. And we need to hire someone who's fired up and ready to go.
I bet you a dollar to a donut, if you hire Carville, you'll see more done in one week than has been done in the first 53+ days so far. You won't see areas with oil just a few miles offshore with nary a boom, nor skimmer, nor cleanup crew in sight for weeks, http://www.cnn.com/... You won't see miles of unanchored, unattended, unmonitored boom, lapping against the shore it's supposed to protect, http://www.msnbc.msn.com/... You won't see help offered from other countries who are expert at handling oil spills in sensitive areas, like the Netherlands, being refused or delayed, http://bit.ly/... You won't see someone who is afraid to tell the criminally negligent, lying oil companies that they aren't doing a damn thing right and they need to step aside so that the government and other international experts can do it.
So I say, put Carville in charge, and let him take is football bat upside Tony Hayward's and other BP execs heads. And upside the heads of any one else, politicians, bureaucrats, media, etc., who gets in his way. And let's throw in for snicks, the mayor of London who needs to shut his face and stop telling us from the comfort of Britain, how we should not be so pissed off at, and stop bashing the lying criminals that have caused the greatest environmental disaster in our history, killed 11 people, and destroyed the economy of the gulf states. If he thinks anger at Britain now, he's seen nothing compared to what he'll see if he keeps making statements like that. So give Carville his football bat, get out of his way, and let him git 'er done!
