The combined global land and ocean surface temperature was the warmest on record for May, March-May (Northern Hemisphere spring-Southern Hemisphere autumn), and the period January-May according to NOAA. Worldwide average land surface temperature for May and March-May was the warmest on record while the global ocean surface temperatures for both May and March-May were second warmest on record, behind 1998.

Last fall Dr. Hansen was predicting that 2010 had a better than 50-50 chance of becoming the warmest year yet recorded. That prediction is on track to becoming a reality, by a wide margin.
Yesterday, Climate Progress had up a post on yet another item Dr. Hansen told us we would be seeing ......... Extreme Rain Events. The latest one in Oklahoma City being much discussed. They set their all time rainfall record in that one, but the last few weeks a seen yet another round of these things.

I had a chance to speak with Gary P. Nunn , this spring. He wrote the London Home Sick Blues, that Austin City Limits uses for their theme song. He lives at Marble Falls, Texas. 3 summers ago , they got 18 inches in 6 hours. His advice when one of these comes to where you live :
