The administration put the squeeze on BP to pay for their mess in the Gulf. The banks wrecked havoc with an entire economy, why aren't they paying too?
BP is compensating people and businesses who have been impacted by their drilling folly. The big Wall Street banks drove an economy to the brink of ruin, threw millions of people out of work, and made it necessary to put the nation further in debt through their own folly and greed. Where is the penalty for them? Where is the escrow fund for the long term unemployed and failed businesses?
Why isn't there the same level of outrage at Wall Street as for BP? Is it because the Great Recession doesn't play well on TV..... oil slicks, tar balls on beaches, oily birds?
