But he has done a lot for us. These have to count for something so put your armors on, put your guards down, suck up all the bitterness even if you have to use a straw and start thinking with your head. We have made progress whether you like it or not.
May be if we acknowledge some things by looking back, we might just get some traction on how best help unite the divide in this community.
So I will start to rewind with my list of Obama's accomplishment. Don't forget these are things we would not have had had it been John McCain:

More from Rachel Maddow
So, please stop hatin on this man. Give the man his dues and RESPECT him as a person if not his policies. He ain't your mama and won't fix everything you think needs fixing. He prioritize things the way he sees it fit, not because we see it fit. He sure looks out for our input but in the end he won't be able to make all of us happy. In a bigger frame of things, no one person's decision is suppose to make everyone of us happy. That is why he is the President and we are not. Acknowledge that he is doing all he can with all the limitations within our political system.
To those who ask if I ever have any criticism of Obama, as I had said it before, I do but it is not fun to see criticism becomes personal and disrespectful. I still say we need to look back and prosecute torture enablers like the 485 arrested for mortgage fraud. I know it takes time to build a case but it will happen. I wish we did not have to increase troop levels in Afghanistan. I wished the Administration had put a harder fight for Van Jones. I wished we did not make a deal with the Pharmas but if choosing the lesser of two evils is the way to go to get something thru congress and/or Senate to pass the most comprehensive HCR in 40 years, then so be it. There are some more but it is all about the balancing act and understanding that I will never get everything I want but the country as a whole is better than it used to be. Incrementally, I am a believer that we will get there only if we are a united front speaking in one voice.
My Mama is visiting and is baking my favorite corn bread for dinner and I am so looking forward to get a taste of her cooking. There ain't nothin like mama's cookin. I asked and I received. She also said, she won't be able to do the gumbo until next week. I asked but did not receive immediately. I still love my Mama cause she is always on my side and always comes through for the family!
Obama is not my Mama but I know he is on my side, on our side. Let's not undermine what he has done and is trying to do. If not on all things, he will come through for us in many ways.
Don't forget that the grass looks greener on the other side!
Peace to all and Happy Friday!
