I got an email from Tarryl Clark this afternoon about how they were able to go up on the air last night with their great ad
Thanks to you, Tarryl Clark's ad debuted on the evening news last night. In the last 72 hours, over 750 of you have contributed to make sure that voters in the 6th district would see our ad and know the truth: Congresswoman Michele Bachmann is more worried about BP's bottom line than she is about our bottom line.
However, we are at a critical time - a tipping point. Bachmann's misguided defense of BP, a defense that even FOX News's own Bill O'Reilly found objectionable, could swing the election. We need you to tip the scales in our favor!
For just $30, the Clark campaign will be able to get a cable ad. For $150 the Clark campaign gets an ad on the nightly news.
We are raising money for Clark on our Progressive Electorate/ Daily Kos Act Blue Page where collectively we have almost raised $1000 for Clark. Let me just say we have some other great candidates on the page that you might want to check out also.
Remember what Michele Bachmann has said since going to bat for BP in the past week.
First she gives them advice
"They have to lift the liability cap," Bachmann said. "But if I was the head of BP, I would let the signal get out there — ‘We’re not going to be chumps, and we’re not going to be fleeced.’ And they shouldn’t be. They shouldn’t have to be fleeced and make chumps to have to pay for perpetual unemployment and all the rest — they’ve got to be legitimate claims."
Next she criticized President Obama's speech and compensation fund calling it redistribution of wealth
It looks like again the president is taking this opportunity to have the federal government go in with a federal government response, take money out of private industries for yet-to-be-determined ideas that the federal government will come out with. It's not just me saying it, there's a number of people here in Washington saying that this is the federal government forcing a financial redistribution. ... It sounds like the federal government essentially wants to nationalize BP and this could be pushing this company into bankruptcy."
Then she says that Clark's ad bears false witness - something Bachmann (R-BP) would never do right? - rotfl
"My opponents are demonstrating with this first ad they are scraping the bottom of the barrel with distorting my views on this tragedy that’s been foisted upon so many innocent Americans, marine life and wildlife in the Gulf Coast region. Making false claims and distortions about my statements is indicative of a negative campaign style, and Minnesotans deserve better."
Let's help Tarryl Clark keep up this ad. It's a great one and hopefully it will give some great momentum to the movement to get Michele Bachmann out of office. This will also let other members of Congress know that their shameless love and devotion to BP will not go unnoticed.
