As if his shameful defense of BP, and comments condoning discrimination by business were not bad enough the Mad Doctor a few years back made some comments that sum him up in a nutshell. Far from the soaring rhetoric of smaller government and politicians that are responsible to the people who elected them Paul gave us a keen insight into his real mindset. You see, just like every other politician in the McConnell machine Rand Paul believes if he were to break the law and get caught he should be above that very law and pardon himself.
Yes, far from being held accountable by anyone it appears as if Rand Paul daydreamed about being President or Governor, breaking the law and issuing himself a pardon. Writing about disgraced former Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher, Paul had this to offer about the responsibility he would use if he were elected to office:
Weighing in on Fletcher's predicament, Paul wrote, "What would I do if I were governor? First, I'd have pardoned myself and everyone included nearly a year ago. Without a pardon the case goes on and on."

Of course the charges were eventually dropped and the damage was done to Fletcher, but despite an essential admission of wrongdoing, Paul still felt that the Republican Governor of Kentucky at the time was above the law:
Prosecutors dropped the misdemeanor charges in a deal in which Fletcher acknowledged evidence "strongly indicates wrongdoing" by his administration.
These comments have led even bi-partisan commentators to note what we have been saying here all along, Rand Paul is simply another McConnell hack, and does not understand what it means to be a public servant aside from the McConnell vision of throwing away Corporate Welfare, outsourcing our jobs to Communist China, and apologizing for the Corporate raping of our country all while defending the rights of Corporations to discriminate against who they see fit:
Richard Beliles, chairman of the nonpartisan watchdog group Common Cause of Kentucky, said Wednesday that Paul's pro-pardon stance would have been "good for an emperor, but it's hardly good for a public servant."
"If that's what he really thinks, he doesn't understand the concept of a public servant," Beliles said.
Of course, the Jack Conway campaign had plenty to say about these comments and took Paul to task for once again showing he has no sense of American justice and quite simply is unfit to serve as Senator of Kentucky:
Allison Haley, a spokewoman for Democrat Jack Conway, Paul's opponent, questioned how Paul could be expected to hold "Wall Street and Washington accountable ... when, if given the chance, he said he wouldn't even hold himself accountable."
So there you have it once again folks. Rand Paul is not something new or different but is cut from the same material as the Kentucky McConnell machine. He thinks he should be able to do anything he wants once elected and should not have to answer to the voters or even the law when he is proven to have broken it. Yes, far from holding anyone accountable for anything, Rand Paul thinks he should be pardoned when he breaks the law and all of us in the great unwashed masses should just shut up about it.
Luckily, we have a strong candidate against the McConnell machine which has merged with the lunacy of the tea-bag movement. We have Attorney General Jack Conway who has already saved Kentucky taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars the right way, by taking on Corporate America. Just look at his ideas on saving more money for American taxpayers:

We need a Democratic Senator from Kentucky and Jack Conway needs our support to make that happen. If we give him the resources he needs to expose Paul's dangerous ideology and show a real alternative we will once again have a Democratic Senator from Kentucky and deal a resounding defeat to the misled tea-bag ideology. Go here to help make that happen:

And to Rand Paul and his supporters I can only say one thing. In your own selfish world when you break the law don't worry, just pardon me:
