If you're diagnosed with a deadly disease, do you want the federal government doing the same kind of job with your pancreatic cancer as they're doing on the BP disaster?
Oh, that's just one reason why Michele Bachmann wants to repeal Obamacare.
Video of unchallenged, free-ranging Bachmann from Newsmax below the jump. The announcer's a piece of work, but that's not the point.:
Anyway, here are the highlights (with the time code):
1:48 the 20 billion dollar compensation fund obtained by the Obama administration from BP is "run by the administration." (By the way, it's not.)
2:54 Obama is trying to take over the oil companies; the cap and trade bill will double the energy bills of Bachmann's constituents.
(CONTINUED)
3:40 Asserts that two thirds of the American people support complete repeal of Obamacare "lock, stock and barrel", notes she was the first member of Congress to file for complete repeal, says it's very likely that conservatives will take control of Congress this fall and can defund Obamacare after the 2010 election.
4:48 says she absolutely believes Obama is a one term president and that we need to elect a very strong constitutional conservative who will repeal Obamacare by 2013.
5:13 She's a tea party favorite how does that help her re-election campaign?
Why the tea party is so cool, how the American people have "flatly rejected the Obama/Pelosi agenda." It's "an amalgamation of people who formerly considered themselves Democrats."
6:15 The financial reform bill. Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and Tim Geithner "love big government" and they "want to make sure they have basically a welfare program for all Americans and we're all on it because they have a very different view of America."
6:53 "Unfortunately, the bill that is coming through will make bailouts perpetual, and here's the kicker--now the bailouts will only be in the President's hands, to give a bailout to whoever his politically connected favorite friend is, and they would bypass Congress."
7:11 Recommends book "Architects of Ruin" by Peter Schweitzer (sp?); "the government created" the financial meltdown. "And so now Barney Frank and Chris Dodd want to institutionalize the very problem that got us into the mess that we're in."
7:45 Obama has already broken his promise that no couple making under $250K a year would face tax increases. The health care bill is "a huge tax" on people of all stripes. "Across the board, people will pay huge new taxes, because of just the health care bill, let alone if the president gets his way on cap and trade. This is the only thing the president knows, is to raise taxes, grow the size of government, and we see the inefficiency that goes along with that."
9:01 "All we have to do is look at how the federal government has miserably failed at capping this hole in the Gulf region. And when we see how miserable the government response has been on this disaster, then consider these are the people who will now be in charge of our health care. Do we really, when we find out we've been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, want to put our lives in the hands of the people running this BP disaster cleanup?"
9:30 The Senate this week rejected a $140 billion dollar "tax and spend bill." (Hey, that's what he called it.) Does this mean the mood is changing on Capitol Hill? She thinks so, she thinks the stimulus spending so far as been "an abject failure." Says Obama wants $50 billion dollars more to bail out government jobs. Says that's wrong, because federal employees already have it too good compared to people working in the private sector.
ACTION LINK: Could we please get this particular lying nut out of government, because every year she succeeds she inspires more lying nuts around the country to run for office?
