With friends from Wall Street, who needs enemies?
The HuffPo is reporting that despite the Obama Administration bending over backwards for Wall Street (while the American People are forced to grab their ankles), Wall Street donors are abandoning Obama.
Despite this year's large spike in corporate profits and strong stock market performance, major political donors on Wall Street are abandoning the Democratic Party in large numbers in reaction to a perceived anti-business bias from Congress and the White House.
This "revolt among big donors on Wall Street is hurting fundraising for the Democrats' two congressional campaign committees, with contributions from the world's financial capital down 65 percent from two years ago," the Washington Post reported.
Bend over the fold for more ...
A frustrated Rahm Emanuel had this to say:
In a Thursday interview, White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel argued that rather than recoiling against Obama, business leaders should be grateful for his support on at least a half-dozen counts...
Indeed the CEOs of Wall Street, Insurance Companies, Big Pharma, Big Ag, Nuclear, Coal, the Military Industrial Complex and even Big Oil should be grateful for the corporatist policies of Obama.
What has his Administration done to reign in any of them? What has his Administration done to reverse ANY of the massive bailouts and ongoing subsidies these industries receive? Not a goddamn thing (but please, if you disagree provide specifics).
And despite that Wall Street and the Bigs are turning their back on Obama. Amazing.
Too bad Obama and crew didn't side with Main Street and the Middle Class and the Greatest Good for the Greatest Number. If they had, the Democrats wouldn't need Wall Street's ill gotten money (our money stolen from us).
I'd say it's too late now. But who knows if we Yell Loud Enough, perhaps Obama and Rahm will realize their grave mistake and respond appropriately. Though I doubt it. What do you think?
