The other night, I posted a diary introducing our coffee cozy fundraiser – some of which will go to Netroots Nation but most of which will support the ongoing efforts of the Community Quilt Project. Check that prior diary for lots more pictures of cozy fabrics.
The fundraiser works this way – donate $12 or more using this PayPal link and we will send you one of a numbered, limited edition of 400 coffee cozies we created to celebrate this year’s Netroots Nation – something to insulate your take out coffee with more style and environmental friendliness than that little paper sleeve they give you! The cozies also work well with the ceramic cups that look like take out coffee cups. We have made this set of cozies from a wild assortment of our cotton quilting fabrics and trimmings of Green Dream polyester batting from the Love Catchers – this batting is made from recycled soda bottles and is pretty neat stuff. We will have these cozies at the Community Quilt table at Netroots Nation – but not everybody will be there and we wanted those who aren’t traveling to Las Vegas the chance to participate in our drawing. Yes, a drawing! On August 15!
Each cozy also represents a chance in a drawing for one of our tied, charm lap throws. But you do not have to donate to enter the drawing. If you cannot donate, send a 50 word or less essay on "What the Community Quilt Project Means to Me" to communityquilts (at) yahoo (dot) com – and put that phrase in the subject line. If we find your essay to be on topic, we will include you in the drawing! There is a limit of one essay per person.
