This came out Monday. The follow up astonishes.
Yessirreeee....... BP went and repeated a plot twist out of Sean Connery's "Rising Sun" movie. All that's missing is a dead gal sprawled on a conference table and snips from XXX porn footage.
Still... faking a pic for BP's "Command Center" kinda takes the cake for screw-the-facts, no respect dishonesty.
BP admits they reworked a 2001 photo. Put it on their web site. (John Aravosis bagged them at AmericaBlog.) Plutocrats to the core.

BP to sell oil and natural gas fields to rival Apache for $7 billion The company is raising money to pay reparations for the Gulf of Mexico spill.
Beleaguered petroleum giant BP agreed Tuesday to sell oil and natural gas fields in the United States and other countries to rival Apache Corp. for $7 billion in its biggest move yet to raise money to pay reparations for the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
The company announced plans to sell its Permian Basin fields in Texas and New Mexico — acquired as part of the purchase of Los Angeles-based Arco in 2000 — as well as properties in Canada and Egypt. Apache was said to be interested in BP's Alaskan assets, but they weren't part of the deal.

- UNFAVORABLE UPPER-LEVEL WINDS AND THE EFFECTS OF THE HIGH TERRAIN OF HISPANIOLA HAVE DISRUPTED THE STRUCTURE OF THE TROPICAL WAVE THIS MORNING. THE AXIS OF THE WAVE IS APPROACHING THE SOUTHEASTERN BAHAMAS WITH MOST OF THE CLOUDINESS...SHOWERS AND GUSTY WINDS EXTENDING EASTWARD FOR SEVERAL HUNDRED MILES. THIS ACTIVITY WILL LIKELY SPREAD OVER THE BAHAMAS DURING THE NEXT DAY OR TWO AS THE WAVE MOVES GENERALLY WESTWARD AT 10 TO 15 MPH. ALTHOUGH THE WAVE IS CURRENTLY DISORGANIZED AND DEVELOPMENT IS NOT ANTICIPATED TODAY...UPPER-LEVEL WINDS COULD BECOME A LITTLE MORE FAVORABLE ON THURSDAY. THERE IS A MEDIUM CHANCE...50 PERCENT...OF THIS SYSTEM BECOMING A TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS.
Has to happen soon or later.

We will be lucky if the Macondo Prospect oil reserves don't end up on the Gulf littoral from Texas to Florida and on around to South Carolina.
The capping operation is done, but now CG's Thad Allen was out saying that they see leakage at the bottom flex joint flanges. That joint is the weakest point of the structure.
Pray for the Gulf and for the Everglades.
