Like a lot of you out there, I read in the Washington post today that, "A group of two dozen House Republicans, led by Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), officially launched the congressional Tea Party Caucus on Wednesday, strongly defending the grass-roots conservative movement as a positive force in American politics and repeatedly insisting it does not have racist motives." And having read it, I shook my head and started to laugh at the thought of that group of two dozen morons gathering together to plan legislation and "strategery" at the national level.
So I did a short video postulating what I think the Gang of Two Dozen may have in store for us all.

Now the video is in Black and White because from the Tea Party's perspective, everything in this country started to go downhill fast with the advent of color television. It was during the days of the Civil Rights Movement and the Women's Rights Movement that color TV slowly began to creep into America's households, driving the tried and true black and white sets into the dumpsters of history. Once the world was easy to understand for the Tea Party mindset. Everything was in black and white, with no troubling gray areas to keep them awake at night wondering about issues like racism, sexism or social justice.
And that's the world that the Tea Party Caucus is trying to restore. A simplistic, black and white world in which the Founding Fathers are as dumbed down and simplistic as though they had walked out of a child's coloring book. The Constitution was perfect as written and we might as well get rid of all the Amendments so we can restore our nation to its 18th century purity.
I'd just like to be watching when Chris Mathews has to explain to Michele Bachmann on Hardball that she'd have to give up both her right to vote and her House seat if she does away with all those Amendments. I can't even imagine what sort of a goofy argument she'd hide behind -- but I know she'd come up with something stupid enough to fire up her base and double her fund-raising totals, because that's the way things work today over on the Right side of the aisle. The Dumber you are, the more money people contribute to your campaign. Argh!
