Hello from Las Vegas! Todd Beeton, Senator Gillibrand's Internet Outreach Director here.
I'm very excited to be back here for Netroots Nation. Last time the progressive blogosphere descended en masse on Vegas in 2006, Harry Reid was the minority leader, Mark Warner was considering running for president, Joe Sestak was running for the House and Markos was making his Meet The Press debut.
Amazing to think how much has changed in just 4 years.
This year I'm proud to attend NN10 as a representative of the Gillibrand campaign. Over the past 15 months, it's been great to introduce the netroots to Senator Gillibrand and introduce her to you all as well.
If you've followed the Senator's diaries here at DailyKos, you know that she is a true progressive voice in the Senate who values the Internet as a tool of engagement and transparency. That's why we did two livechats here at DailyKos and two live video Facebook chats; that's why she has posted diaries here, at The Albany Project, Huffington Post, BlogHer, Pam's House Blend, LaVidaLocavore, Moms Rising, and The Motherhood; and that's why she posts her schedule, her financial disclosures and her earmark requests online.
So when it became clear, in the midst of her first run for statewide election, that she wouldn't be able to make it to Vegas this year to meet offline with the community that has welcomed her with open arms online, the Senator wanted to record a video greeting and send a big thank you to the netroots.
The Senator's video message is below:

Hello Netroots Nation, I'm US Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. I'm sorry I can't be with you in Las Vegas this week, but I wanted to say hi and thank you for your amazing advocacy. It's been a historic year and we could not have made the progress we have without your hard work.
I also want to thank you for welcoming me into your community. Since arriving in the Senate, I've posted many diaries at DailyKos, The Albany Project, BlogHer, The HuffingtonPost and many more. I really enjoy the dialogue the blogs have allowed me to have with my constituents and the larger online progressive community. And I look forward to much more.
Using the Internet to communicate with my constituents has always been important to me. When I first came to Congress, I was the first member to put my schedule, my financial disclosures and all of my earmark requests online for my constituents to access. And now I'm focused on making all of Washington more transparent as well.
Please go to my website, KirstenGillibrand.com and find out all the details. And while you're there, I hope you'll consider joining my campaign. You can sign up at KirstenGillibrand.com/netroots or text NETROOTS to 69736. Also, please follow me on Twitter at Twitter.com/SenGillibrand.
Thanks again for all your hard work!
Thanks for all the support you've given the Senator here at DailyKos and if you'd like to sign up with our campaign, please do so at http://kirstengillibrand.com/...
