Fight!
I’ve been trying to figure out why I’ve been so ho-hum about your presidency so far. After watching the "special comment" by Keith Olbermann from last night’s Countdown show, I think I’ve hit on it.
I want you to fight for me. I don’t want you to push for a compromise with corrupt DINO senators to get a piece of legislation passed that doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do.
more below the fold...
Keith hit the nail on its head. Stop trying to keep your job Mr. President, and start doing your job. Your were not sent to the White House to tally up legislative "victories" as if they were the standard to measure your presidency. You were sent there to transform Washington and the nation. Your victories ring hollow to us who are not being helped by watered down bills that don’t solve problems.
Passing a stimulus bill that was too small was the first mistake. I thought, OK, every new president needs to find his way. You’re a smart guy, and you’ll get the hang of it soon. You’ll come out fighting for us soon. But No! We got the summer of our discontent instead. Mr. President, you could have come out and clearly said what we needed to do to reform our healthcare system. Instead, you stood by while corrupt pieces of crap like Ben Nelson, Mary Landrieu and Joe Lieberman held the bill hostage. And so you leave us hoping that the reforms will really kick in starting in 2014. And hoping that many of us can hang in there until then.
Your major legislative victories don’t seem like real victories to the average American. We are hurting while the corrupt DINOs are watering down the bills that could help us. And this week, you stand by while an innocent and inspirational woman is railroaded by racist liars on Fox News.
America has been bullied by greedy Right-Wing racists. We elected a President that said he would fight for us. Instead of holding back the bully during a fight, you hold us back. And we get punched one more time by the bully. And you wonder why we’re pissed at you and the bully? Here’s a clue: how about holding back the bully in the fight. (Sure, we’re bound to throw a punch or two while he’s being held, but so what! The bully deserves it!)
It’s really simple, Mr. President. Do the right thing. For us. For the country. Do your job. We’ll take care of making sure you keep your job.
