Short and sweet, I couldn't help but notice Congress has found the time to investigate several members for ethics violations. I found this odd, since I was under the impression every Congress critter had some type of skeleton politely dancing in their closet.
Oh the top of my head, I can name some level of scandal in both the Republican and the Democratic Party leadership in the House and Senate. It's not like either party really wants to bring this up. Ethics violations is even bad news for John McCain.
Now, I prefer that our representatives play above the board, but I couldn't help notice how much time is being spent investigating only the progressive voices in the House, when we all know anyone could be brought up on the same charges.
That's just how Congress works.
Now what I don't understand is if the Congress has all this time to find petty crime among their members, how have they not found time to investigate the war crimes and high crimes against the republic by the Bush Administration?
Why has Congress only found time to destroy progressive voices? Why not Bush's torture of minors at Gitmo? Or a war built on propaganda and lies? Or Cheney's Energy Commission papers that defined said war?
Or countless other transgressions against the Constitution and the rule of law this country was built on the Bush Administration seemed to commit on a daily basis.
Nope, instead Democratic leadership in Congress decided to spend that time bringing up ethics charges I am pretty sure any member would be guilty of if we push the rake in the muck far enough.
Sure, Waters and Rangels behaved as badly as Pelosi did in 2006, or Tom DeLay did his entire career. But all their crimes together look petty compared with the awe inspiring constitutional stampede engineered by the Bush White House.
So congressional Democrats, if you find even more time to investigate crimes and transgressions, before you form up into the traditional circular firing squad, might I suggest you face forward towards the enemy, and look forward to the day justice is rendered upon the Bush Administration.
To bad the Democrats didn't spend all their time investigating that, they might have accidentally fulfilled a campaign promise or two.
