Ice:
"Nobody can claim this was caused by global warming. On the other hand nobody can claim that it wasn't," Muenchow said
Fire:
"The mortality rate has doubled," said Andrei Seltsovsky, head of the city's health department. There were usually 360 to 380 deaths a day in the city, but "now that number is about 700".
Deluge:
The full scale of the tragedy engulfing Pakistan is now emerging, with the United Nations saying today that the floods, which have entered their third week, have now affected 13.8 million people.
Famine:
The Diff animal herders who, by most estimates, have lost more than half of their livestock, say this year’s drought is not only worse than the one in 2005, but the worst in living memory.
Heat:
Excessive-heat warnings have been issued for nine states along the Mississippi River and a heat advisory covers parts of seven more, the weather service said. It’s the latest heat wave of a Northern Hemisphere summer that has shattered records around the world.
In addition to the heat over land, the tropical Atlantic Ocean where most major hurricanes form has seen record surface temperatures this year, Masters wrote.

Taken one by one it is easy to write them off as a freak occurrence, taken as a whole a pattern is emerging, then you have to look at:
.
The trend:
Scientists have also released what they described as the "best evidence yet" of rising long-term temperatures. The report is the first to collate 11 different indicators – from air and sea temperatures to melting ice – each one based on between three and seven data sets, dating back to between 1850 and the 1970s.
How many more times will we be told to bury our heads in the sand?
How much longer will individual nations sit by and do nothing?
How much longer does this remain a political football rather than the defining moment of our civilization?
I'm afraid the basic science is in and just because the message is one we don't like does not mean it is politically biased. The deniers can scream all they like but all the data indicates Global warming is occurring, I'm really sorry but that is the way it is..
We can make ourselves feel slightly better by financially helping those affected, however we remain guilty of their plight the longer as nations we refuse to act. Those are the facts I'm afraid, every time we individually contribute to worsening this warming trend we bear some responsibility to those who suffer its consequences.
Once again:
.
How will we be remembered?
If you don't care, look at the young; it may well be them remembering you.
Scare tactics?
Damn right
I'm scared.
Act today.
