"Politically, everyone is with it, but theologically, when he says the country should turn back to God, the question is: Which God?" said Tom Tradup, vice president for news and talk at Salem Radio Network, which serves more than 2,000 mostly Christian stations. "How much of this is turning to God? How much is religious revival and how much is a snake oil medicine show?"
Well personally whilst watching then Glenn Beck Snake Oil Show I was waiting for him to tear off his clothes and walk across the the reflecting poll on his hands. I was disappointed, hell he didn't even baptize anyone.
When will Beck the baptist come out of the closet, who will he pick as the messiah, or will he undergo the final metamorphosis in his career and promise to save us all? From alcoholic clown all the way through to savior of white Americans in a few short years, all hail Beck.
I do have a question Glenn how can you say Obama has the wrong type of Christianity when you yourself are a Mormon? Not that I care, but the theological debate is pretty clear Mormonism and Christianity are not the same thing at all.
Richard Land of the Southern Baptist Convention
Although he doesn't consider Mormons to be Christians, Land said he agrees with Beck's basic premise that American society must be "rebuilt from the bottom up." Land accepted an invitation to be part of a group of more than 200 clergy members whom Beck calls his "Black Robed Regiment," a reference to pastors from the Revolutionary War who stirred up opposition to colonial rule.
I believe there is some good old fashioned denial going on here, purely for political gain.
This isn't the first time Beck's faith has been scrutinized. Prominent Mormons have occasionally criticized him as being an entertainer, not a theologian. After an interview in 2008 with Focus on the Family, the article was pulled because some of the group's supporters thought it was wrongly validating his conversion experience.
I'm afraid Mr Beck has only two beliefs, himself and his bank account. I am positive he saw a niche for a cry on demand faux patriot cum pastor and went for it, however he is unstable and I'm sure one day he will even believe in himself.
Perhaps that day is upon us will he bring the bread and fish to the next Tea Party communion? Will he reveal himself to the faithful? Or will he merely choke on a bone?
It will be interesting to watch just how far Beck can go, there is a previous example of this:
David Icke
On April 1991 he announced on the BBC's Terry Wogan show that he was the son of God, and predicted that the world would soon be devastated by tidal waves and earthquakes.[5] The show changed his life, turning him practically overnight from a respected household name into an object of ridicule
Beat that Glenn!
