This just in: Murkowski concedes.
"It's been a long week," Murkowski told reporters at her campaign headquarters in Anchorage. "I don't see a scenario where we could win."
Remember the latest poll from Public Policy Polling showed McAdams only trailing Miller by 8 points
Miller leads Democratic nominee Scott McAdams 47-39. McAdams benefits from a more united party, getting 81% of the Democratic vote to Miller’s 73% of the Republicans. The candidates split even with independents at 42%, a good number for Democrats in a year where their candidates are largely getting blown out with that group of voters.

Joe Miller has never been elected to public office. The Democrat,David Guttenberg, who beat him in a run for State Representative had this to say about Miller
I beat this fool when he ran against me in 2004. Miller speaks drivel. He clearly cares nothing about the lives of Alaskans just about this constitutional double talk. If I was a Tea Party supporter, I would worry about this guy being my champion. I believe he is a career wanna-be big high mucky muck, who wants to be in charge of you life.
McAdams on the other hand has held elected office as both the Mayor of Sitka and was President of the Association of Alaska School Boards. We have a clear choice: either the Palin backed Candidate or a true underdog netroots hero.
Murkowski did not take questions and certainly did not give any indications as to whom she would be supporting in her brief statement tonight.
From Mudflats last week
Less than 48 hours after Scott McAdams was declared the winner of the democratic primary for U.S. Senate in Alaska, he is already the #5 fundraiser on ActBlue. Let’s get him to number one NOW. He needs capital to get this campaign rolling into high gear. Even a small donation will buy some bumperstickers, or a yard sign. Heck, this is Alaska... $10 will buy a radio commercial!
Remember that every state gets two senate seats, regardless of its population. That means a $100 donation to Scott McAdams is the equivalent of almost $2000 to a senate candidate in Texas. So if you want your political dollars to have the most bang for their buck, and if you want a great new Democratic Senator for the state of Alaska, you know where to put them. Don’t you feel influential?
We have Scott on our Progressive Electorate/ Daily Kos Act Blue Page
