Power of the anti-war Netroots alert. Thanks to intense grassroots pressure nearly the entire Mass. delegation voted against continued war funding last June. These are the wars which have cost every household $30,000 to $40,000 so far. The one congressman who did not get the message was Boston's Stephen Lynch. If you are hardcore for Lynch, stop reading and go back to your phone banking. He's a good man, but he keeps voting for war.
Is there anything else you could think of to do with that kind of money? Lynch was one of 148 Democrats who voted to keep the wars going. The bottom line is, the wars can only go on as long as there are Democrats willing to fund it. The Repubs by themselves don't have enough votes. Tomorrow Boston-area voters have a choice against Lynch in labor lawyer Mac D'Allessandro.

If you are a registered Democrat or "unenrolled" in the MA-9th District you can punish Lynch for his war vote in Tuesday's primary, Sept. 14. D'Allessandro on his site says he favors ending our "unnecessary military presence in some Muslim countries that only serves to inflame anti-American sentiment." As large an anti-Lynch turnout as possible will be noticed, possibly forcing Lynch to come around with a no vote next time (if Marc doesn't win.)
