Not much to say other than this has to be not-quite-great but gooder than good news, and it lends some credibility to the Gallup generic ballot of a week ago that showed a tie. It's hard to refute that we are gaining some momentum...
2010 Congress: Generic Ballot
45% Democrat, 44% Republican

It's true polling this primary season has been dodgy at best (Nate Silver sez that polls have been off by an average of 10 points), and the generic ballot can swing wildly, so making a prediction at this point is likely futile. BUT, I'm an optimistic fool and I believe this could be the turning point. We all know the Tealiban has been fired up since last August, but now that all nominees are dialed in and there are less than 50 days until lever-pullin' time I think we Democrats are beginning to pay attention and come home.
I think the combination of some truly over-the-top Republican nominees (we all know the cast: Angle, Paul, Miller, Buck and now the queen bee, Christine "I make Sarah Palin look like a serious candidate and Rhodes scholar" O'Donnel), some good policy and administration steps (Warren appointment, DADT/Dream act in the upcoming defense authorization bill, and hopefully the "Obama Middle Class "tax cuts and ensuing debate), David Plouffe on the GOTV case and we could have a perfect storm on our hands.
Could it be Obama and the DNC has been waiting for the right time to spring? Or am I just a hopeless rube? We shall see...
UPDATE:
Gallup now reporting a gain in party affiliation in the form of a bright and shiny modest new lead for the D's
PRINCETON, NJ -- Slightly more Americans identify as Democrats or lean Democratic (44%) than identify as or lean Republican (41%) in September to date, re-establishing a Democratic edge that disappeared in August, when the parties were even. The Democrats' current positioning remains much weaker than it was at the time President Barack Obama took office, when they enjoyed a 17-point edge in party affiliation.

It's not the 17 pt lead from 08 (ouch) but get stoked y'all, this is far from over!
