It would appear that Lisa Murkowski, the incumbent Republican Senator from Alaska who lost the primary election to Tea Party-supported candidate Joe Miller, may be indeed launching a write-in bid for the Senate seat, per an article on the Anchorage Daily News political blog.

She had announced earlier this week that she would make a decision by Friday, and it appears an announcement will come this afternoon.
Lisa Murkowski supporters are urging people to come out tonight for what’s being called a "campaign kick off," although her campaign manager isn’t ready to say that she’s decided to run.
Bonnie Jack, who was a Murkowski campaign elections observer for the count of absentee votes, sent out an email this morning. "Join us at the Kick-off of Senator Lisa's campaign -- with a theme of "write in her name in and fill in the oval."
Although this would purportedly portend a divided vote on the Right and deliver the election to the Democrat, Mayor Scott Adams of Sitka, polls have suggested that this is not necessarily true, as many Murkowski voters would support Adams in the absence of Murkowski being on the ballot, but that the electorate would be split 3 ways if she were to run.
In the general election, Republican Joe Miller leads Democrat Scott McAdams by 8 points in a head-to-head race. Miller, the poll found, has a 4-point advantage over Sen. Lisa Murkowski in a 3-way race if she runs on the Libertarian ticket. (This comes from a PPP poll on Aug. 29, with Miller leading McAdams 47-39 but Miller 38, Murkowski 34 and McAdams 22% in a 3-way race, with McAdams getting the Murkowski voters 47-31 in a two-way race).

I personally have to believe that the Republicans would come home to Miller by election time, so he would consolidate their votes and so McAdams actually has the most upside in a 3-way race.
Visit the Scott McAdams website here to contribute to his campaign. It won't take much to make him truly competitive, especially in a 3-way race where Murkowski and Miller will probably unload on each other (there is no love lost between them). And to top it all off, this is the chance to defeat Palin's hand-picked candidate in a high-profile race.
