Guess what?
The Georgetown GOP is focused on a former Democratic Party chair and current blogger more so than a candidate or the issues that the state faces. Nothing new, of course. However, I don't back down from a challenge.
My response to this flimsy press release, asked for by the Georgetown Times:
As usual, the Georgetown Times bites on a press release from a person who has nothing better to do than produce them. What's reprehensible is the gutter attack on Vida Miller on an issue four years old. I suppose the GOP has nothing else to offer besides the past, seeing the Pledge to America. Stay classy, Tom. As for my comments, they are my opinions. How else do you explain voting to not let two people who love each other marry - no matter the gender. Again, as if the man/woman marriage concept is so perfect. Just ask our Republican Gov. Mark Sanford.
Here's a GOP Chairman obsessed with press releases that attack, point fingers and offer no solutions to the working or unemployed of this county. No, he'd rather stir up emotions and generate fear for a vote. It's tasteless. That's why I asked Republican candidate Kevin Ryan to denounce the ad, stick to issues of today and argue them with integrity. We'll see how the so-called "moral values" party allows their candidate to respond.
The people who ought to apologize are Tom Swatzel and the Georgetown GOP. They fired the first salvo, calling on homophobes to "lesbian" Linda Ketner and trying to paint her lesbianism as a bad thing.
I suppose your thinking leads you to believe you'll win hands down. Keep your focus on me - a blogger, Tom. That's just where I want you.
