This will be brief. I might comment on the Dkos diary, but will most likely keep my focus on the White House FB page.
Starting at 3 p.m. EDT: Join us for a live chat on the Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative to support the transformation of distressed neighborhoods into neighborhoods of opportunity.
This is your chance to talk to the White House.
Join the conversation with Larkin Tackett, Department of Education; Luke Tate, Department of Housing and Urban Development; Thomas Abt, Department of Justice; and Richard Frank, Department of Health and Human Services; moderated by Derek Douglas, White House Domestic Policy Council.
The Open Government initiative by the White House is an unprecedented attempt to bring new media into the functioning of our democracy, and to promote digital democracy initatives.
This is one of the most important developments of the Obama administration, and frequently gets ignored by the media.
Why?
Simple, really.
If the Obama Administration can directly contact and communicate with constituents, then it makes the media irrelevant.
I suppose they'll go on talking about Obama's approval ratings and Christine O'Donnell's perspectives on witchcraft.
Or Justin Bieber.
Or something.
