Wow. All I can say is: Wow.
Finally, a United States Senator, Ted Kaufman, stands up and dares to go near the 'black hole, the sink hole, the one that the MSM and of course most of our Congressional Members' never even venture towards:
Senator Ted Kaufman, has become in my book, from this day forward, the only decent public servant and Senator in our entire government, a true, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington DC moment for our nation. He dares to have the courage, to ask the one primary question that is on the tip of the tongues of over 300,000,000 million Americans:
Where are the prosecutions? Why are they being ignored by both parties? Where is Attorney Eric Holder, and why hasn't anyone, that has left Americans in the absolute worst catastrophic economic disaster in our nation being held accountable.
If you do not realize, that is the very crux of why there is a deep, enthusiasm gap in our nation, and in our party, think again.
Congressman Alan Grayson has 'gone there' again and again, and so has Elizabeth Warren, but this is the very first time, that a United States Senator has had the courage, to directly point the 'finger' that is the fire, the deep fire, that is breeding contempt for our own party and our own President, and our entire government.
People not only know they got fucked, they know how it happened thanks to the internet, and it was not about 'saving America' and the Middle Class. This particular catastrophe was predicted again and again, and we were warned by the original, Elizabeth Warren.....Brooksley Born, and still, what has happened to our nation makes the Great Depression, look like a walk in the park, because at that time, we still had the Robber Barons, but many of them were thrown into jail by the Pecora Commission under FDR, and of course, during the Savings and Loan Scandal, William K. Black threw over 1,000 of these bastards into jail. And of course during the great Depression, we did not have NAFTA, or the selling out of our jobs overseas, and both Phil Gramm and Joe Biden telling us to stop:
Whining.
You know, 'buck up and shut up'.
If you do not think that is really what this is all about, then you must be on life support.
A consistent question since the financial crisis in 2008 is why has the federal government not prosecuted any senior executives for their roles in the collapse of firms like Lehman Brothers and Bear Stearns or the risky investments that led to bailouts of onetime financial giants like the American International Group, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. How can companies worth billions of dollars just a few months earlier suddenly collapse in 2008 without someone being held responsible? At a hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee last week, Senator Ted Kaufman of Delaware summed up the frustration on Capitol Hill with the lack of any identifiable villains for the financial troubles of the last two years. "We have seen very little in the way of senior officer or boardroom-level prosecutions of the people on Wall Street who brought this country to the brink of financial ruin," Mr. Kaufman said. "Why is that?"
Yes, thank you Senator Kaufman. The question is not just 'Why is that' but what is it costing our own party?
Everything.
This huge 'black sink hole' that both parties are dancing around, is exactly the cause of where we are now as a nation. Everything else is a decoy.
Sarah Palin?
James DeMint?
The Tea Party Racists?
Karl Rove 'in a come back movement'?
Idiots like the 'clone women of the Sarah Palin Movement'?
You thought 'Jaws' was a great movie, you ain't seen nothing yet. The Republicans are will slit your throat in your sleep, sell their 'grandmothers' and then fuck you up the you know what, to get into power.
They are 'reptiles' and they do not give a shit, but I am still wondering, why, President Obama did not understand, when he had a once in a life time, opportunity (even if it was for just 4 years) to set America straight again.
One possible reason for the lack of prosecutions involving senior executives is the Supreme Court’s ruling in Skilling v. United States, involving Jeffrey K. Skilling, the former chief executive of Enron, that limits the right of honest services provision, 18 U.S.C. § 1346, for criminal fraud prosecutions to just those cases involving bribes and kickbacks. It is now impossible to pursue cases against corporate executives for questionable conduct that involved some measure of dishonesty that caused harm to the company unless it also resulted in the person lining his or her own pocket. The Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing on Tuesday entitled "Restoring Key Tools to Combat Fraud and Corruption After the Supreme Court’s Skilling Decision." It will be interesting to see whether the absence of any high-profile criminal prosecutions from the financial crisis will be cited as a reason for Congress to amend the honest services law to reach corporate misconduct that does not involve some form of personal benefit to the defendant. In the Skilling case, the Supreme Court questioned whether a crime involving only a breach of fiduciary duty could pass muster. Even if Congress were to amend the honest services statute to reach a broader range of corporate misconduct, it would not apply to anything that happened back in 2008. Mr. Kaufman’s question is likely to remain unanswered for quite a while because prosecutors have not shown much interest, at least to this point, in pursuing criminal cases against executives of companies involved in the financial crisis.

This is not a rocket scientist moment in America. People know exactly what happened to our nation, and they know who caused it, who got away with it, and on top of that, who got paid off from it.
We've been totally fucked for more than 30 years, and still, the two party system, just keeps flying on their 'elite' jets to supposedly keep the 'world peace' as the wars rage on, and now, it has become even worse that this.
The illegal foreclosure 'Mills' are getting away with exactly what Wall Street did.
Where is AG Eric Holder? I guess someone put him in a closet with Duck Tape, over his entire body, because, do not forget..............
the 'black hole and sink hole' of America is the fact that every single American in our nation knows, without a compass, as to 'who got away with this and why'....
At least Congressman Alan Grayson does not step back from the truth on every single American's lips, like Senator Ted Kaufman and Elizabeth Warren, and William K. Black:
The state Supreme Court has declined a Florida Congressman's request to halt all foreclosures being handled by three South Florida law firms under investigation by the Attorney General, saying the high court has no jurisdiction. U.S. Rep Alan Grayson, D- Orlando, asked for the action to target the law offices of David J. Stern, Marshall C. Watson, and Shapiro & Fishman, which he said represent about 80 percent of the foreclosure proceedings in the state.
Florida Default Law Group of Tampa, a fourth firm also under state scrutiny , was not named in Grayson's Sept. 20 letter to Chief Justice Charles T. Canady. But Grayson spokesman Todd Jurkowski later said the congressman was "equally concerned" about that firm and "any other corporation that is under investigation for profiting from mass forgeries." And court rules did not give the Chief Justice authority to intercede in pending cases involving attorney misconduct, or to investigate allegations of fraud or misconduct in foreclosure cases. The fraud cases must first be ajudicated in trial courts, according to the response. While the Supreme Court does have jurisdiction over attorney discipline, misconduct investigations first must be handled by The Florida Bar, according to the response signed by Clerk of Court Thomas D. Hall. It suggested Grayson ask the bar to take action.
Grayson, U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown, D- Jacksonville, and House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank also have asked Fannie Mae to explain why the government-owned mortgage giant is retaining the services of four Florida law firms under investigation for allegedly "fabricating or backdating" documents in foreclosure cases. "We are disturbed by the increasing reports of predatory 'foreclosure mills' in Florida working for Fannie Mae servicers," Frank, D-Mass, wrote in a letter also signed by Grayson and Brown. "Why is Fannie Mae using lawyers that are accused of regularly engaging in fraud to kick people out of their homes?"
Every single American, knows what happened to our nation. To deny that is to deny why we sent President Obama to Washington DC.
I am only doing this diary, to thank one single United States Senator, Ted Kaufman, for having the courage to state why we are in this insane, political reactionary politics.
Shit, I'm not a genius, never pretended to be, but at the same time, I do recognize those public servants, that have the courage to 'go there, where the rest of the Senators and Congressman will not go' which is why American is in such a state of deep rage.
What part of that do we not get?
So VP Biden says stop whining? Wow, does that sound so you know...familiar..
In an interview with the Washington Times, McCain's top economic adviser Phil Gramm tells America to suck it up and stop complaining about the economy:
"You've heard of mental depression; this is a mental recession," he said, noting that growth has held up at about 1 percent despite all the publicity over losing jobs to India, China, illegal immigration, housing and credit problems and record oil prices. "We may have a recession; we haven't had one yet." "We have sort of become a nation of whiners," he said. "You just hear this constant whining, complaining about a loss of competitiveness, America in decline" despite a major export boom that is the primary reason that growth continues in the economy, he said.
Gramm, whose extensive ties to Enron proved problematic during the firm's implosion several years ago, was serving as a lobbyist for the international banking and subprime mortgage giant UBS until April. As Mother Jones documented, Gramm played a key role in the subprime meltdown during his time in the Senate. Just yesterday, McCain himself said "I would imagine that we are" in a recession. But he and Gramm are still on the same page: in April McCain said "a lot of our problems today are psychological."

I just wanted to say, tonight, that I am indeed thankful, that one single United States Senator called out what every single American knows, and does not understand why our own President had not called out:
We know what happened to our nation.
Don't we?
I do.
It has been researched, again and again and again, and if you want to deny that.......
then I suppose that is your business.
But I will not and cannot, and refuse to.
I know where this has led our entire nation.
We were, at one time, a nation of exceptional and great leaders....
before the Corporate takeover of our nation..
before those that are being thrown out of their homes and jobs, is becoming an everyday event, without any protection from our government.
Why is that a question, that is not allowed anymore on DailyKos?
President Obama, could have been a great 'contender'................perhaps the greatest President in our history, but instead, he chose, the wrong path............
And now..........we are going to have to face the absolute worth 'Jaws' of the Republicans.............but know this:
At least there are a few statesmen left:
Senator Ted Kaufman.
Congressman Alan Grayson.
Elizabeth Warren.
Who all had the courage, in their final days, of where they are....
to stand up for the truth.
I wish that President Obama had, had the same courage..but he did not..
and now, we are going to pay the price.
Thanks as always.
