I watched Bill Maher's show last night and my overall take on the show was very different than what many people on here thought. Below are the 2 diaries on Dkos, that appeared right after the show. I got disgusted after a while and shut it off. According to Maher, "Bush is a man of Big Ideas."
Even Robin Williams was complicit. Bush tricked us into a war that killed close to 1,500 Americans, maimed...... you know the rest. He should be in a Federal prison along with Cheney, Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz and those idiots on the Maher show were ready to give him the Nobel Prize for one vote. The Democrats would not have voted for the war at all if they new they were lied to, knew what the casualties would be (and believe me that was obvious because I wrote lots about this war before it started) and knew that it was all to remove Saddam but install Zarqawi in a very big and visible position in Iraq and al Qaeda.
Real Time with Bill Maher tonight - AWESOME!!!

Can we afford to let EVERYONE think that Bush is a man of Big Ideas instead of a man of Big Lies and lots of Laziness? Don't we
justifiably have to put some real fear in the American Public that this guy and his Administration screws up everything they touch? That is the context with which the Gannon affair needs to be discussed.
Nothing is right because of Bush and he is on his way to destroying this country. If they cannot protect who gets into the White House and who gets White House secrets, how can these lying bastards protect us from al-Qaeda? They didn't do a very good job of paying attention before 9/11 and that should be a huge indication of what they will do in the future. Too bad our Democratic candidate was too much of a chickenshit to tell that to Americans. Instead, Republicans made commercials about the foxes in the forest ready to attack us if he were elected. We have to start getting tough and not praise Bill Maher and go after Chris Matthews and most importantly, lite a very big fire under the asses of the Senate Democrats.
Anyone watching the show came away with the fact that Bush is brave, courageous and bold (which gives away my age). Many of the Kosians who watched the show were ecstatic, yet they always seem to miss the underlying messages and the underlying faults. The same people who believe that Kerry should be nominated in 08...fools.
Yes they hit hard on Gannon but that was funny and we know that will go no place. So with Gannon as the only real negative and Bush as a bold leader with Big Ideas as the positive, we lose by a large margin.
I hope the Iraqis make something of all this and I hope Iraq becomes a democracy but there's as much chance as that as there is for there to exist a Republican who's not a hypocrite.
