Although tents are needed right now for the Haitian people to survive, Haiti is bound to be hit by at least one hurricane in the next few months now and the tents will be blown away in the hurricane strength winds leaving the people standing unprotected in the winds and rain.
Does any kind of shelter currently exist to allow them to survive what is surely coming as the second disaster for the Haitian people? Or does something have to be quickly invented to help them survive? Shelter doesn't have to be permanent, just something to go to that can be delivered to Haiti quickly and set-up quickly, where the people can shelter with their folded tents and other possessions. All I can think of is some sort of plastic shell that can be lightly buried underground to shelter from the wind and stop the rain from getting in. We need some quick thinking for the very near future here please.
