And...more importantly...what brand of scope would he use?
Trijicon, a Wixom Michigan based supplier to the United States Marine Corp, Special Forces and Navy Seals, makes what they say is the finest rifle scope in the world.
And thanks to this company of conservative christian war mongers, now our soldiers get to read scripture as they steady their sights on their targets.
Or at least, can make a mental note of a particular scripture passage citation, and then they can maybe compare it with their official US Military King James Christianizer Book later.
Trijicon has been etching bible passages into its rifle scopes and shipping them to our military almost without anyone noticing.
According to a report by ABC News, the company wrote references to Bible verses about Jesus Christ on rifles used by the U.S. Marines and Army. The Military Religious Freedom Foundation, which seeks to preserve separation of church and state, said the inscriptions are unconstitutional and harmful because it turns military conflicts into religious wars.
The inscriptions appear to come after the end of serial numbers inscribed on the sights. On one of them, it reads "JN8:12," an apparent reference to the Book of John, Ch. 8, Verse 12, according to the ABC News report.
That section of the New Testament reads, "When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, 'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'"
Proselytizing in the US Military has been a sore spot of late especially for people with a copy of the United States Constitution and a cursory familitarity with the writings of Founding Father, Thomas Jefferson. So now the christian right is sneaking its dogmatic agenda under the radar with its OEM's. Brilliant!
The sights are used by U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan and in the training of Iraqi and Afghan soldiers. The maker of the sights, Trijicon, has a $660 million multi-year contract to provide up to 800,000 sights to the Marine Corps, and additional contracts to provide sights to the U.S. Army."
Before too long you'll need to be baptized and accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior before you're allowed into the US Military. We might as well move back to England, the island we fled to escape religious tyrrany in the first place. Ironic that nowdays there's no way in hell the the Mother Land would allow this shit.
