You'll find something interesting if you visit Lt. Governor
Tim Kaine's website; a request for you to donate to the American Red Cross to help out victims of Hurricane Katrina. Democratic candidate for Attorney General
Creigh Deeds is the same, he asks visitors to support either the American Red Cross or the Salvation Army.
Two of the Republican candidates (Bill Bolling and Bob McDonnell) fail to call on Virginians to help their fellow Americans. Republican Jerry Kilgore has a short message on Hurricane Katrina. But Democratic candidate for Lt. Governor, Leslie Byrne, has a relatively minor paragraph asking people to donate to the American Red Cross. But you could easily miss it compared to the gigantic photo of her on a page that largely remains unchanged since her primary win in the summer.
So do you feel that Leslie Byrne should have followed the example of Tim Kaine and Creigh Deeds in putting greater attention to calling on people to donate, or is the current page acceptable?
If you have anything else you'd like to say about the Virginia race, please chime in. I for one am unhappy with Byrne's campaign, and worry that at the most Democrats will only win two of the three statewide spots. But if that means the 2009 race is between Bill Bolling and Creigh Deeds I'll be happy, as it would almost certainly be a Democratic lock. Or maybe Warner will be returning.
But for now, we've just got to focus continuing Warner's legacy. We Kaine Do It!
