The stories are true.
Say hello to mechanically separated chicken. It’s what all fast-food chicken is made from—things like chicken nuggets and patties. Also, the processed frozen chicken in the stores is made from it.
Basically, the entire chicken is smashed and pressed through a sieve—bones, eyes, guts, and all. it comes out looking like this.
There’s more: because it’s crawling with bacteria, it will be washed with ammonia, soaked in it, actually. Then, because it tastes gross, it will be reflavored artificially. Then, because it is weirdly pink, it will be dyed with artificial color.
But, hey, at least it tastes good, right?
High five, America!
So now I ask ya. When you're on your way home and you've got a headache from the hunger...and you know the kids will be clammoring for food when you walk in the door...and you don't have an ounce of energy left to lift a finger to cook dinner...
...would it really be so horrible to stop and get some sliced ham and a loaf of bread?
If no one likes what you've made for dinner, just show them this picture and tell them it's the sandwiches or Chicken McNuggets. I doubt you'll get much of an argument after that.
