Christ on a feta cheese and romaine lettuce salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing and herb croutons, we got some seriously scary shit happening here in Colorado:

Rasmussen Reports has moved the Colorado Governor's race from its "Solid Democrat" category to "Leans Democrat" after its latest poll found American Constitution Party (ACP) candidate Tom Tancredo trailing Democrat John Hickenlooper by just 8 percent.

This is Tom Tancredo we are talking about here, people. TOM TANCREDO!

I mean, this dude can't even handle Markos!

Tancredo has essentially taken over in polling for one Dan Maes, who is (arguably) crazier than Tancredo himself, if you can believe it.

A Rasmussen poll released on August 2 showed Hickenlooper capturing 42 percent of the vote to Maes's 27 percent and Tancredo's 24 percent.

Much of the Republican establishment has since abandoned Maes in the wake of a series of distractions involving the candidate's time as a Kansas police officer, among other issues.

Both Maes and Tancredo give Christine O'Donnell a serious run for her batshit insane money.

John Hickenlooper needs your help! Hick (as we affectionately refer to him here) has been a pretty kickass mayor of Denver and, even if you're not particularly enthused about his centrist sensibilities, Hick can be a strong voice for the state of Colorado. We need him!

Donate and volunteer here!

Even scarier than Tancredo pulling votes for crazy teabaggers and Colorado independents is the hellishly frightening Senate race between Ken Buck and Michael Bennet:

The weekend produced two new polls in Colorado. A traditional live-interviewer survey conducted by the new McClatchy News Service/Marist University polling partnership Republican shows Ken Buck leading Democratic Senator Michael Bennet by eight points (50% to 42%), while a new automated Denver Post/SurveyUSA poll published yesterday has Buck leading by five (48% to 43%). Our trend line estimate of all public polls puts Buck ahead by nearly six (49.1% to 43.4%).

As many of you know, I am not a fan of Michael Bennet. Not at all. He has pissed me off too many times now, and I voted for Andrew Romanoff in the primary. But Ken Buck creeps me right the fuck out! (h/t weatherdude)

While Ken Buck will shoot hollow points into the body of the Senate, Michael Bennet can stem the bleeding! We need him!

Donate the volunteer here!

If either Tancredo or Buck walk away from the November 2nd election successful, Colorado is going to suffer. Please give all the time and money you can to two rational, Democratic candidates.

Thanks! :)

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
