Joe Miller, Alaskan Senatorial Candidate has 24 Hours to Fess Up
There have been rumours and counter rumours, accusations and denials about Joe Miller's past employment as an attorney for the Fairbanks North Star Borough.
The rumours have been flying about the reason for Miller's termination of employment as an attorney for the Fairbanks North Star Borough.
Was he fired?, did he quit?, was he forced out?, things went sour and the reason for him leaving his employ have not been cleared up enough to quiet the noise.
Lisa Morkewski's (heh, heh) camp in particular want this information out in the open.
I'll try and lay it out clearly. (This is not Miller's only problem by a long stretch).

On Monday night, Alaska political pundit and blogger Andrew Halcro posted an interesting tidbit. Under a picture of Joe Miller and Sarah Palin, who endorsed Miller in early June, Halcro wrote: "U.S. Senate candidate Joe Miller was fired from his job as an attorney for the Fairbanks North Star Borough. Why?"
Miller spokesman Randy DeSoto denied Miller had been fired.
Rene Broker, the borough attorney who was Miller's boss when he was with the borough, declined to comment on why Miller left the borough, saying she wasn't comfortable speaking about his work performance without Miller signing a release allowing her to do so. While at the borough, she said, Miller mostly worked on larger assignments, such as the suit over the state's assessment of the trans-Alaska pipeline's value.
Jim Whitaker, a Republican who was borough mayor from 2003 to 2009, also declined to comment on Miller's departure.
Miller's camp released some information, but it was deemed to be insufficient.
Miller claims it is the Borough who are not releasing the information and the Borough claim it is Miller. The Borough have now decided to call Miller's bluff.............

Fairbanks to Miller: Let us release your records
In a letter sent Thursday to Miller's attorney, Ward Merdes, borough attorney Jill Dolan also asks that Miller "retract and correct repeated misrepresentations he has made regarding his records," including postings on his campaign website that suggest it's the borough, not Miller, that is blocking release of the records.
But the larger picture of why Miller's relationship with the borough soured is incomplete and one-sided. Miller has offered his version, saying he can't say more unless the borough fully waives attorney-client privilege. The borough has similarly said it cannot release more information without specific permission from Miller.
Yet the borough's letter to Miller indicates it believes that Miller does not need a waiver to speak openly and that he is allowed, under guiding ethics rules, to talk about things to the extent necessary to defend himself in a controversy.
The Borough have given Miller until Monday October 11th to respond to their latest letter.
For a good take on Joe's latest dilemma, here is a great link....

Sarah’s hometown boy (who’s not really from Alaska, but that’s another story) has been ducking and dodging this question almost as long as he’s been ducking and dodging requests for his financial disclosures but not as long as he’s been ducking and dodging requests for his military records. Gosh, it just gives me the warm fuzzies when I think of such an open and transparent candidate.
Interesting times for Palin's Grizzlies.
A brilliant alternative for Alaskans, Scott McAdam.
