For those not really paying attention or who don't watch MSNBC, they have a new slogan, "Lean Forward".
I can only imagine that the viewer demographics of available cable viewers in the morning must lean heavily conservative/wacko or I have no clue what MSNBC is doing.
I know better than to even accidentally watch any of Morning Joe as their nonsensical take on things drives me up the wall and makes me want to toss things at my television. I spent a lot of hard earned cash on it so this wouldn't be a good thing.
This morning I woke up unusually early and the television was on MSNBC from the night before. There was a show called Jansing & CO. which I wish I had never watched.
This show is almost as bad as Morning Joe. I watched for 10 minutes and was subjected to being told that Christine O'Donnell had beaten Coons in their Delaware Senate debate. Now I didn't watch the whole debate, so I am guilty of forming impressions from clips which I know is a dangerous thing. On the other hand, I know enough about Cristine O'Donnell and the clips were devastating enough to know that a MAJOR SPIN job was occurring before my eyes. Apparently, because O'Donnell was able to spew the Tea Party talking point lies without "appearing crazy" she came off as competent. Really MSNBC? I mean really? Have we finally sunk so low that this is what constitutes the competency of a candidate? Of course, she froze like a deer in the headlights on a question about naming a recent Supreme Court decision that she didn't agree with, but hey, who cares if she actually knows anything -- she read her prepared talking point lies about "ObamaCare" and "The Stimulus" with aplomb.
If that were all that happened it wouldn't have been so bad. Unfortunately, I am still fuming from what happened next though. Pat "The Racist" Buchanan compared O'Donnell to JFK and it was allowed to stand without any derision or laughter. It really irritates me that MSNBC has chosen to give this racist, vile man a continuing forum for his nonsense. The least they could do if they are going to give him air-time is to have competent foils on with him to call out his nonsense.
I don't really know much about this Jansing woman. She may be a very good person that is just trying to make a career for herself. I may get myself in trouble here and I apologize to any women if I offend them by what I am about to say, but this Jansing & CO show that she is doing makes her come off as "a bimbo". The way she treats her news stories is as an unintelligent, uninformed person. She adds nothing to the story and when she tries to comment it is usually an attempt at snark which is never funny or witty. From what I can tell she tends to lean conservative on her comments and thoughts.
I've learned my lesson. I cannot turn on MSNBC on in the morning. It is actually a shame that MSNBC has chosen to try to appeal to conservative viewers in the morning. Their numbers must justify this, but from a marketing perspective it really goes against their brand. Is this for the "Blue Dog" Democrats out there? I'm really curious. I doubt Republicans watch MSNBC. I really cannot understand why MSNBC just doesn't go all progressive, all the time. If they did, then they could actually be moving forward rather than just leaning.
