Major Contributiors of GW Bush
I stumbled across this list of major Business and other contributors to GW Bush's campaign.
I found it very interesting the number of CEO's who were major contributors although I was not surprised.
Why is an old contribution list relevant today, you ask? Because my money says these people are most likely major contributors to the GOP this time around as well because they have a major stake in what happens in our country.
This is applicable today because if you look at what has happened to our economy and who has benefited from the GOP policies over the years, and then look at the list.....well the whole fiasco becomes very transparent.
Let's look at just a few of the hundreds of names on this list.
Ok, we have the CEO of AIG. Then we have partner in Pantheon. Of course we have the CEO of Anadarko along with many other energy companies. Ceo of Wachovia, CEO of Humana, a former partner of the Blackstone Group, Vice-chairman of JP Morgan Chase, Chairman of Yahoo, Chairman of Halliburton, President of Citicorp, CEO of Lockheed-Martin, CEO of Liberty Mutual, etc, etc.
Look, you can bet these people are ALL contributing to the groups that are running today's questionable ads. Why? Because they WANT the GOP back in power. So this is no news flash. But the list has some very interesting names of prominent CEO's, COO's, CFO's in EVERY INDUSTRY especially energy, banking, and insurance.
I've been saying for years that I have more rights as a corporation than I do as an individual. But here is what I just don't get because it is insane.
These people who support the GOP seem to want NO RULES for corporations and LOTS AND LOTS of rules for individuals. First off, this is totally opposite of what our country is suppose to be about AND totally opposite to what these nutty TBGRs are advocating when they talk about the Constitution. Secondly it's insane because NO RULES equals anarchy. And we have clearly seen the results of this no rule anarchy, which was clearly bought and paid for by the richest people from this list. We are where we are today because the rules were not enforced under the Bush Administration. Corporations can make insane amounts of money when there are no rules and they don't have to pay taxes.
But then these people who support the GOP, go and bitch about government not doing enough, when they find themselves out of a job that was outsourced to China, or Hong Kong or India.
I was raised that America is suppose to be about freedom. But the GOP keeps wanting to butt into people's homes and lives and tell them what they have to believe, how they have to live, etc. Now that is totally opposite of what they profess to believe especially for the religious members. I say this because even GOD gives freedom of choice to believe or not, to do good or not. They talk about freedom on one side of their mouth, and then want to take that freedom away if it doesn't agree with their moral values.
They are nothing but pawns. In fact, I'm beginning to believe we are all just pawns. It feels like our country has retreated to Pre-Revolutionary Way ideology. In fact, the tea baggers ought to be called Tories, but unfortunately the majority of Americans wouldn't understand what the word Torrie meant.
The world has always been full of leaders and followers. And there have always been more followers than leaders. But Reality in America is far different that the image we build up America to be. America does not have liberty and justice for all. America has liberty and justice for those who have the money to get it. The more money you have the more liberty and justice you have.
We don't have freedom of speech or freedom of assembly when corporations can tell its employees they can't attend an a political rally or speak out on issues that they strongly believe in.
So, GW Bush's list is applicable today. Same corporations, different election. That's where I draw a line in the sand.
I will vote Dem in November regardless of how mad I am at Obama, and the rest of the Dem party. I have to vote Dem in November; Not because I'm a Democrat, but because I don't think our country should go to the highest bidder and because the alternative is more insanity.
But quite frankly, if they succeed in buying this election, I don't think our country will make it. Because if these guys on the list can buy every election, every candidate, then there is no hope for the ordinary person regardless of the candidate. Today, our country is not the great icon it once represented itself to be. And if the people on the list succeed, America will just become a whore to the highest bidder.
