It feels better when we go on the attack. Its gets results, too.Goal Thermometer

That why we just endorsed two Democrats, Suzan DelBene and Colleen Hanabusa, who can defeat vulnerable Republican incumbents. Polling shows Hanabusa tied, and DelBene down only 3%. If we start picking off Republican incumbents, so much for the Democrats are DOOOOOOMED scenario.

Chip in $7 to each of them here.

If you want proof that taking the fight to Republicans works, then check out the new UNH poll showing Orange to Blue candidate Anne McLane Kuster surging to a 7% lead in NH-02. Kuster is running against Republican Charlie Bass, who held this seat for 12 years but has a scandal on his hands. That isn’t going to help him stage a comeback.

Contribute $7 to Ann McLane Kuster, and finish this one off.

Oh yeah, and Markos is on Bill Maher tonight! Check it out, on HBO, at 10pm eastern. How awesome would it be to watch Markos take the fight to Republicans on television, while contributions taking the fight to Republicans on Orange to Blue keep climbing upward?

Stay on the attack. Don’t ever give up. Contribute to Orange to Blue candidates tonight.

Update--Wow--3,000 Kossacks have contributed since Wednesday. This is a frakking amazing run! Can you chip in $10 to reach 3,500 contributions?

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

going on in the elections.  I just got a robocall from--who knows, no identity--that stated I should vote NO on a local Dem candidate because he voted against 550 jobs for our area.  Party couldn't even say I should vote FOR someone else, just vote NO on George.  Everything is anti-incumbent even though folks who vote for the TP candidates are voting for a pig in a poke.  So I guess their mascot is the pig, the Animal Farm type, I suspect.

the IRS rules governing those anonymous donors and the organizations which they contribute to forbid the organizations from co-ordinating with a specific candidate or campaign.

So they can't legally say "vote for Christine O'Donnell"  - but they can say "don't vote for Chris Coons".

It's the same where I live, the 3rd CD in WA State. Our US seat (WA-03) is an open race, with retiring Brian Baird.

The two contenders left after the primary are Denny Heck (D) and Jaime Herrera (R).

The satellite/cable channels are chock full of ads just on these two locally, and nearly all of these are negative ads against one of them. The only exceptions are the few where the candidate says, "I support this message".

        Hope this helps explain it.

    •  Maher is letting conservatives go wild on show (0+ / 0-)

I love Bill Maher, but he is so desperate to attract conservatives to his show, that he is letting them dominate. The progressives he has had on the show are either kind of weak, or they don't play the right-wing bullshit of interrupting and talking over people.

Maybe it is just me, but I am sick and tired of these right wing nutjobs calling Health Care Reform, "Obamacare." WTF! Not only did Maher let two assholes a couple of weeks repeatedly call it Obamacare, he started calling it Obamacare also. He played right into their hand. He let them bring in their nutjob talking points and even perpetuated it.

They had a nice decent progressive, in Carl Sagan's wife, but Maher let this asswipe Andrew Breitbart talk over her and interrupt the entire show.

Maher has to man up and call these conservatives out.

Everything I write is within a margin of error of precisely 100%.

you should do an update soliciting donations for one the most Progressive House members that appears to be in some trouble. Congressman Grijalva.

It's great that we push for progressive newcomers but we all lose if incumbent folks like Grijalva and Grayson lose.

Please all, check out Spedwybabs recc'ed diary and rec and donate. He's too important to the cause to lose.

in the entire House, what good are we? While every seat is important, seats held by strong, liberal voices are crucial to hold.
The thing I admire most about Grijalva is his courage. Sure, in retrospect, the boycott call was bad politics; but that doesn't mean it was the wrong thing to do. He stood up for fairness and equality.
We could do with more Raul Grijalvas in the House, but the loss of the one we have would be devastating (not least because of the message it would send to other progressives.)

  •  It's always more fun to attack! (0+ / 0-)

It's also easier.  That's the advantage to being in the opposition.  If we lose the House, as seems likely, the opportunity to be in the opposition is the consolation prize.
